Installing midpipe. Do I need to retune my PFC base map?

I want to take the plunge and change my bonez cat for a midpipe. I have the base map in my pfc . My PIM is at
92% after 6000 RPM. (Was running way to rich) .

Do I need to send my PFC to XS for a retuning??

Wich parameter you suggest to change?

Please help

Thanks all
Serge

Serge,

Where did you purchase it to begin with? Was it tuned, already? I would hope the answer is NO if they used the PIMS to tune it. Who modified the PIMS and based on a dyno run / tuning?

I would save the money (rather than spend $150 on ROUGH tuning) towards a new FMIC / SMIC. Bring the PIMS back to 100%, as the middie MAY lean you out more.

The BEST way to go: Find someone close to you with a datalogit and a wideband O2 sensor. Then get someone to help you tune the car. The BEST way to go.

Alternative, get on a dyno, figure out what AFR you are at 10psi. From there you can still PIM (a SHOTGUN approach to tuning...but it has its place) it back in SMALL increments.

If your basic question is whether or not your mixture will change with the midpipe install and the same fuel maps, the answer is yes it will change your mixture. You might want to richen it back up a bit, but ultimately you should get it tuned with a wideband. Mail-order maps only get you into the ballpark -- you need wideband tuning on your car to really get the maps right.

Get the car tuned with (1) A dyno (2) a wideband AND (3) a datalogit or you will likely pop your motor when you put on the midpipe. You should also port your wastegate. In my opinion, all of the above are not options in your situation--you have to do them or you'll be looking at a rebuild.

And DO NOT send your power fc to XS to be "tuned." They are utterly incompetent at mail tuning. Go to a shop and have it done.
