Innovate XD-16/LC-1 users, I have a small question.

I have everything wired and operating great. I used ARGHX wire schematic to wire it. I have my LC-1 set tp 0/5v 9/16AFR and same in my Datalogit. It is in the AN1/AN2.

Anyway, my Datalogit when in Mapwatch just seems like it can't keep up with the XD-16 readings. For the most part it appears to read as accurate as the XD-16, maybe off by a .5 of a AFR.

Do any of you slow the response speed of the LC-1? I see the selection of different speeds(1/12, 1/4, ect) in the LM Programmer but am unsure if this will effect percision of the XD reading OR will even affect the datalogit reading.

Thanks for your input.

I have slowed mine down; it doesn't affect the logging, just keeps the display from being so spastic. Try clicking the delta AN1 & AN2 button, you should find that what you’re logging and the display will match then.

I have the AN1/AN2 box checked. What did you slow yours down to?

It just seems like the datalogit is a second behind the gauge. Strange.

Sean,

Got your PM, and I see you found my writeup afterwards (which was here: https://www.rx7club.com/power-fc-forum-47/my-power-fc-lc-1-xd-16-datalogit-wiring-diagram-707298/ for anyone else reading). It's good to see you ditched the AEM as I once did. I have personally seen it be inaccurate on cars even around 14.7:1 , the AFR range where O2 sensors should actually be the most accurate. The LC1 is a great unit, albeit finicky for initial setup. I always noticed that the gauge responded faster than the datalogit, but it never really bothered me that much as my laptop at the time was from the late 90s and already really slow.

I think one of the reasons why the gauge reads faster than the datalogit is because the XD-16 gauge communicates with the controller over a serial connection, while the datalogit is receiving an analog signal and is converting it. I believe the cheaper "DB" LC1 gauges which come in red or blue face (no calibration capability) communicate only over an analog signal and would not have that problem as much because analog is slower.

Do the gauges agree when you are at idle and the AFR is pretty stable (where sample rate would matter a lot less)? If they don't, you either have a grounding problem or you did not get your LC1's output voltage configuration to agree with the Datalogit's input voltage configuration. Otherwise, remember that the less stuff you log (in the monitor window's check boxes) the faster your sample rate will be. Open up one of your logs in excel and look at the left time column. How many samples are you seeing in 1 second's time?

Thanks ARGHX for the write up bro. It was very helpful HOWEVER I did wire my blue heater into my other grounds. Seems to work fine and worst case scenario if I can't get the datalogit 100% compliant with the XD I will make the heater ground seperate.

My laptop too is from the stone age and I only have a couple programs installed on it to keep it somewhat fast.

All I have checked in the moniter box is ADVANCE. I will mess around a little with the VOLT-to- AFR settiings in the datalogit(sometimes just changing it from 15.99 to 15.98 works). Plus I will lower the sensing speed of the LC-1 to maybe 1/12 or so.

I will keep posted.

Just a little update. I ended up wiring the BLUE heater ground seperate and the Datalogit is a little bit more accurate. It really wasn't too far off to begin with BUT seems to be getting a little less noise.

Still haven't slowed the LC-1 speed yet due to weather but anyway, the innovate XD-16/LC-1 kit is GREAT! Much better then the AEM UEGO in my opinion.

if I remember correctly it was Innovate that recommended the blue wire be separated in one of their writeups or forum posts. I spent a long time combing though a bunch of **** to figure all that out

Hey guys, can you check your a,b,c values for poly on the DL ?

I'm also using a LC-1, and it's about 0.5 off. I'm using 9-AFR (0-volts) to 19-AFR (5-volts) and poly values of a=0, b=2, c=9.

Thanks,
:-) neil
