Initializing a PFC from Datalogit

I've got a PFC with an unknown map on it with a black-box datalogit. No commander. I'd like to reset to the factory base map. I see two possible options:

1) Tools->Initialise Power-FC - This menu option in FC Edit 2.130 is not even mentioned in the manual I have so I don't know what it really does. Searching for the term returns no results here.

2) There's a "sample" 13B-REW v5.08.dat that ships with the FC Edit. Not sure if this map is intended for use or just for an example to muck around with.

I don't have access to the datalogit yahoo group. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt D.

Save the map that was on there. Keep it for reference.

1) Tools--> initialize will do it. It restores the PFC just like you would with the commander. The map will be the default map stored in the ROM for the unit. It will also reset the idle learning parameters, so you should perform the learning procedure.

2) The FC-Edit "sample" map is not the map that comes pre-programmed into the Power FC version 5.08 (the current basemap that comes on new PFC's). I just confirmed this by using the compare feature in FC-Edit.

Great, thanks for the info! I suspected as much but didn't want to randomly push buttons without knowing what they do. My copy of the manual appears older than the current software and doesn't explain a number of options. In fact, it appears the software authors didn't even know what some of the variables were for ;P
