Idle problems may or may not be happening due to cutting up harness..........
OK, so here's the problem, I wanted to know if anyone else has
encountered this problem or has any idea of what is wrong, it may or
may not be due to cutting up the factory harness plugs for all the
emissions and stock factory turbo solenoids that are of no use when
going to a single turbo configuration(Skeptical of this because the
ISC valve works when my A/C is on). My car is having a problem
idling because the ISC(IdleSpeedControl) valve doesn't seem to work,
it only seems to work if I have the A/C on, which means on load.
With the A/C on I move the idle speed up and down on the commander
and it responds fine, with the A/C off, it seems like the ISC can't
close enough, for some reason it's like it's getting too much air, I
had my friend put his finger over the port hole right in the
beginning of the throttle body that feeds the ISC valve while the A/C
is off to limit the amount of air going through the hole, and I tried
adjusting the idle then with the commander, and it worked. As soon
as he removed his finger from the air port hole, back to surging idle
again. The only reason I mentioned the harness issue was because
this only started happening a few days after I cut the harness, this
is why I said it MIGHT be due to that, even though I checked the
wiring diagram in the manual, and checked out the wires on the
harness, the only thing I saw in the harness that I had to join back
in together(because it was in a loop) was the black wire with the
white stripe that powers the ISC motor, what's weird about this is
that the ISC seems to be working BUT only maybe closing up to a
certain point, and that may be why it only works when I put something
to restrict air to the port hole, or when the A/C is on, and it has
more load(requiring more air). I've tried adjusting the throttle
position, throttle body plates, the air adjustment screw, and also
the tps sensor, everything is within spec. I even changed the ISC
valve out for another one, and still the same thing. Anynone got any
ideas?, I'm stumped on this one.
