How to setup PFC
Howdy,
I received my Power FC yesterday and run home to install it. However the instructions are in Japanese!!!!
I searched the Internet and found all kinds of stuff, like cut wires, don't cut wires, partial instructions.
Does anyone know where there are actual install and setup instructions? The Apexi site doesn't even have instructions that I could find. I would prefer some from Apexi, that way if they are screwed up I can try to get a refund if it smokes.

Thanks existanzrx7, My son found the US Apexi phone number and I called them and they sent it to me. The are changing over to a new web site and the manuals are not on there yet.
I got it installed and it has issues. It went through some kind of setup phase where it ideled fast for a couple minutes, then reved from about 1000rpm's to 2000 rpm's for a couple minutes. Then it slowed way down. Then it ran real good, smooth and only missed a little.
So my son decides to put in the garage and it started reving again and scared him. I thought he might go through the garage. I had him turn it off, then restart and try again and it still does it. It will idle at about 850 rpm's. when you touch the gas it goes to about 1600 then slow back to 800 in about 15 seconds.
Oh well more stuff to look up.

The manual doesn't say anything about learning mode, it seems to be about 30 minutes from what I read.
Also I was told I had to cut four wires so I did.
Since I guess it never finished learning it start all over. The A/C is not working so once its fixed I guess we'll have to re-initialize it again. It does seem to idle better, not sure that worth $900, we'll see tomorrow when we drive it.
I also wonder if everything is working normal, a 15 year old car more than likely has sensors, grounding, etc that probably seen better days.

as long as it is not a jdm fd you have to cut the 4 wires. search thru the pfc faq section, it tells how to set the screw on the tb & describes how to '' learn idle''. is a pfc worth $900.00? best $900.00 you will ever spend. now you can monitor/check all sensors/knock readings. no more 3000rpm stumble the list goes on.

I turned on the headlights instead of A/C,the A/C was partially removed by a previous owner. It didn't idle too well though with the lights turned on. Maybe that means there's a power issue / ground problem.????
The next day when we drove it, it died the first two times my son shifted it. When he took his foot off the gas the rpm's dropped to "0", Then it was OK after those two times..
It acts like it also has a warm up period, it runs at about 1600 rpm's for about two minutes then slows down. Does any of this sound normal?
The old computer made the car idle differently each time we drove it. Some times it was ok other times it was spastic.
