how to load FD map onto FC AP PFC?
I have a series 5 FC with the AP Engineering PFC. The PFC box itself is an FD unit, but the software has some small changes and the "version" says 13b1 instead of 13brew, this is made as a plug and play for the FC. It is set up to use an apexi 3 bar map, as part of the AP Engineering setup, and this is the first option in the software. There are a couple of other software changes as well.
So I am looking to load a map that I used on my old FD that I have saved since I had similar mods on that car and it's an easier starting point to tune from.
Today I tried and the PFC wouldnt let me do it...said something along the lines of "unable to load file from different version. Read all, make changes, then write all instead."
But of course when I read all, then write all, it reads the existing map on the PFC, not the one I want to load, so that's a useless suggestion, unless I am missing something.
So...how do I go about doing this?

I assume that you are using a datalogit even though you have not directly mentioned it.
Some versions of the DL software are not compatable with some PFC versions.
Being an AP modified PFC might be the problem.
Does READ ALL, make a few changes, then UPDATE or WRITE ALL work?
Not sure from your description.

Easiest way to tackle it is open an Excel spreadsheet and copy/paste the injection, base map, and ignition maps in, then paste it into the "13b1" map. Should only take a minute to do that. Settings you'd probably have to do by hand, though, but most of those are pretty easy.

hmmm...I had not thought of that. I will have to give it a try, if I can figure out excel (I dont know anything about it). The settings are easy, I am not worried about those...most would vary from the FD settings anyway. Thanks Dale.

There is an easier way to copy.
Open DL twice, one for the version in the car's PFC and one to copy from.
You should be able to cut and paste the four 20X20 maps from one to the other.
The other stuff has to be entered by hand.
I have done this for changing maps from 5.07 to 5.08 versions.
