Just finished the step-by-step writeup on how to make this work. The information at the beginning of this thread is WRONG - go to the new thread for a thorough how-to.

Followed Dale's instructions and it works like a charm. I did NOT go get the correct female harness pin to use in the harness. I figured this was not critical so if it was flakey that was OK. I used a female DB-9 crimp pin. After crimping this to a wire, I was able to push it through the harness connector after it was already installed into the PFC. I could kind of tell that it was engaged by the way it dragged as I pushed the pin in. On the other end, I planned to use a non-solder type tap-in connector, but couldn't find a small enough one. So I used Dale's scrape, solder, and tape method to make the connection to the ELD orange/black harness wire.
Now I seem to have knock issues (please comment here: https://www.rx7club.com/power-fc-forum-47/pfc-warning-acceptable-knock-levels-620711/). Nevertheless, I got CEL when I turn the ignition on and off when I fire her up. I believe the knock warning is erroneous. At least I hope so.
