hooked power fc up and no maps are on it! ..
so i bought a power fc off a guy on here and it was brand new, went to plug it in the car just cranked and cranked. i went through some of the setting for it and saw that there was nothing on it at all. main thing i noticed was that it wasn't getting spark nor fuel. And from some of the research i did i saw it was suppose to come with a base map on it. but seems like mine decided to say **** me. haha. but was wondering if anyone could help me out buy letting me know how theirs was set up. I have full exhaust, intakes, fmic, and a large street port.... if anyone could help me out here it would be very appreciated.
thanks tajh

Posted on the other thread but in case:
You have to reinitialize the PFC which replaces the stock saved map on the PFC. This map cannot be deleted fyi. Make sure to READ then SAVE your current map before wiping it clean.
"To reinitialize a PFC, you'll need a Commander (the hand held unit)
Plug the PFC in, connect the commander, turn the ignition on but don't start the car. On the commander locate the ETC menu & press NEXT. Go to ALL DATA INIT, press NEXT, highlight YES, press NEXT, turn the ignition off. Wait a few minutes, turn the car back on and you have the base map. Do a sensor check etc., then start it up!" - from Natey on another thread.
With Datalogit it's under the tools or setup I believe on the top toolbar. I'm at work so going off memory.

What do you mean there's nothing on it? Are you connecting to the PFC with Datalogit or the Commander?

Turn your ignition on and power up the Commander. Go to Settings, hit Next, select IGL and hit Next. You should see columns and rows labeled N01... and P01...etc. Do you see any numeric values in the individual cells?

cew- commander. and i mean that theres 0's in spots that there should be numbers.
milano- i know what your talking about. ill have to plug it all back up because i have the stock ecu plugged back up to drive it and what not.

if it's all 0's even after initializing then either someone jerked you off when they assembled it and forgot to load the base map into the ROM chip or the previous owner fragged it with a magnetic field which wiped it clean.
you may have to send it back to Apexi to resolve the issue. personally i would talk to the person you bought it from and let him know, perhaps get a refund and buy a different unit.
you shouldn't even need the base map from the onboard ROM if you could get a hold of a datalogit, just download the base map and try installing it that way.

I never tried this but some have. If you use the DATALOGIT and PROTECT the data fields on Settings 1, maybe it causes your problem.
You will need a DATALOGIT to discover if this is the problem.

yea ive been working on getting the datalogit. but college is getting the best of me for money wise. so i think my best bet is just to send it back and get one from some where else. was considering rx7store. because they are only about 2 or 3 hrs from me. so take a visit and check everything out... but id like to thank you guys for the help.

The settings are probably just locked. Doesn't mean that there aren't values there. You can reset the powerfc if you want to reset back to base map which would get rid of that.

You can't load other peoples maps and boost it with these cars. Can you use it to drive around, yes, but not to boost WOT. Every car is different.
