No boxes before the end of the year but how far out after that are you aiming for FastHatch? I was hoping to get one before I move to Japan in July. Actually I guess I'll still need one in Japan as well.

Nzo, if you move to Japan, those clone boxes are like 30000 JPY. Andre's box and software combo sound like a sure winner, tho.

have you seen these docs?

I'm working almost every day several hours on FC Tune.
It's now 03:50 here and i'm still working on it and answering PMs, EMails etc.

Working on all the map watch features now, map trace, ghost trace, standard deviation to see how stable the AFR is. Interpolating / smoothing the maps etc. etc. Please be patient

FC Tune also works with the box from Kashi. I talk to him again to make sure the analog inputs are supported too. His box is only USD 260, together with FC Tune this is already an cheaper alternative to the FC Datalogit.

Hmm interesting, I have seen mention of box plans from japan but didnt know they were widely available. I know someone who got what is supposed to be a copy of the Excel box and most recent version of the software, perhaps its the same thing? Thanks for the heads up, though FC Tune still seems pretty sweet.

His box has 4 analog inputs AFAIK, but no additional features like Antilag etc.
He also doesn't make a software for it, you'll have to use FC Pro (japanese) or FC Tune.

But i have never heard a success story with the features of the Datalogit box, so i'd would go with his box if i would need a box urgent

FC Tune supports the Datalogit, Power Excel dongle, FC Commander Pro cable and also Kashis box. Get whatever you are most comfortable with, i won't be mad with you

How do you contact him fasthatch? I guess I would have to use your software in order to use it though, unless I could find a copy of excel. Dont' know how readily available that is. Most likely it would be in Japanesse anyway. Though I could have my brother translate the main functions for me.

With as many people need the box maybe we could get a multiple buy going to save on shipping. I will try and contact him tonight and find out if everything is compatible. My biggest issue is finding the software to use with it. Fasthatch how confident are you in your software being close enough to be used to tune with, if even its only some of the features?

The website also has the Japanese version of FC Tune ... you gotta dig deeper! Too bad it's in Japanese.

FC Tune and other software (Andre's software totally owns this tho)

And Fritts, if you get a hold of Kashi, let us know.

FastHatch - In NO WAY was I insinuating you were being lazy or anything of the sort...just meant that there were no NEW posts from anybody at all...that was the surprising part. With the programming progess you have made thus far, I believe you probably only sleep 2 hours a night!

Well I'm not so thrilled with what I found out about Kashi's boxes. Here is his reply to the boxes. I am assuming the locked information is the extra features that datalogit gets you over the commander. Could be wrong though. Its more expensive that datalogit.

Dear Ryan,

thankyou for interesting for our PFCadapters.

there are four kind of models PFCadapter.

standard version 29,400yen
standard +SP version 48,300yen
with analog I/F version 47,250yen
with analog I/F +SP version(full functional) 66,150yen

(other available parts)
1.8m RS232C 9pin female-male straight cable 600yen

basic function:
it can connect to old type or new type of Power-FC from PC.

+SP function:
this is the data-password canceller. you can access to
password protected data in the Power-FC. if you access or edit to
data in the Power-FC from unknown or somewhere shop.
if you use factroy-default data on initilized PFC will not required
this function.

analog I/F function:
it can input for FC-PRO logging with 3 channells input
analog voltages and exaust-temperature sensor. this is compatible
communication protocol with FC-PRO software.

those packages are not included FCPRO software. you need get
this software or compatible software from anywhere, or make a
software yourself.

paying method:
we can accept the paypal. please add paypal transfer charge
amount of 5%.

shipping method:
we can shipout with EMS. shippment cost are,

Damn. I wonder if he'd sell the software from the pic cheaply. Those parts in the schematic would not amount to more than $30 I bet.

The PIC is probably what commands the price.

Fritts, I think I'm going to buy an "analog I/F version 47,250yen", I couldn't get Japanese language support for my computer, what's his contact and Paypal information?

Fritts, you only need the +SP feature if your Power FC got locked by your Power Excel tuner. My shop doesn't lock the user out, but other shops do. If yours is brand new or has been tuned but is not locked, you will not need the more expensive +SP

Its more expensive that datalogit.
It's more universal than Datalogit, too. If these are direct clones of the A'PEXi dongles, then it's worth it, IMO.

You don't need this feature with FC Tune, it ignores the password

Don't forget you also have to get the PCB (circuit board) made, even if you buy 50 boards you won't get them for less than $10 each. You have to buy the case, cable, connectors etc. I think all parts of his box sums up to about $50. You also have to hand solder each box. And don't forget you have to cover the costs of the development board/kit and prototype boards.

But i agree that ~$440 is too much for the box with the analog inputs, $260 would be a fair price if this would include the analog inputs.

His email is at the bottom of his website at least that's the one I got into contact with him. Not sure he did not specify a paypal address.

On another note it looks like datalogit should be up and running with a new datalogit box the 29th. The difference is that these new boxes are made by a machine rather than hand soldiered.

Hopefully, the competition will drive his prices down to a more realistic level

I doubt it as the datalogit and his adapter has been out since at least 2003 from whats written on his PCB boards. Hopefully when datalogit figures supply and demand out they will have decent response to products.
