@jayjay22: As with FC Edit the Datalogit box must be plugged in to the PFC and power must be switches on. Then you have to select the right COM port and you should be able to connect to the PFC by either pressing Download or Monitor -> Start.

Question:

Is there a performance benefit of the proposed "FastHatch" box over an FC Datalogit? Was looking for a clarification because it sounded like it would have a higher sample rate than the FC Datalogit? In other posts it sounded more like the software was what was improving the sample rate?

Other suggestions for functionality:

As an FC Edit user (Toyota Celica 2ZZ-GE), I find that I have to do all my "tuning" outside of FC Edit, and thus have had to develop Excel based tools to do this. The biggest problem with this is that my Excel tools need to be constantly tweaked in order to for the displays to be correct and all the calculations to work.

First suggestion would be a rescaling tool. The default load and rpm breakpoints usually make little sense, and most people would want to change those to best suit their cars. This is especially true on Toyota engines with VVTL-i or Honda engines with i-VTEC, as extremely careful control of cam timing around the cam switchover point is necessary. This is my Excel tool I made for this purpose, but again using it is cumbersome because you typically need to hand correct many of the cell formulas to make it work.

http://users.ameritech.net/trdcelica...scale_Tool.xls

Second suggestion is a good way to revise maps. I like that you've included 2D graphs of maps, and I saw a suggestion that you show total fueling rather than just base fueling. I've also seen a bit of discussion over the Recalc Base function and peoples' desire to make percentage based changes to their maps. This Excel tool I made (I actually named it PFC Tune way back in 2004 when I made the first version of it) graphs based off of total fueling, compares logged AFR data against commanded AFR and generates a suggested changes table. But being Excel, I needed to make a third table to actually implement the changes, which directly writes those percentage based changes back to a revised base fueling table. Other problems with using Excel is that all the cell references have to be hand entered, both in the tables and in the graphs, and graph scaling would need to be adjusted by the individual user.

http://users.ameritech.net/trdcelica/PFC_Tune.xls

Anyways, just thought that the biggest shortcoming to FC Edit was its inability to actually interpret the logged data and help you make any sort of changes.

have you got a link to the latest beta?

And it should work just fine for a powerfc with a datalogit box for the FD rx7? (considering that your posting here constantly)

So... any releaseable progress? I've been itching to use your interface over the datalogit box after you get the +/- value adjustment feature added.

@Dr. IfTeR / All: Should 'auto update' be set application wide and saved in the registry or set per open document? The problem is if you have calibration X in the PFC and open file Y which does not match the one in the PFC and then change a setting a part of Y will be written to the PFC. So I'd say auto update has to be turned on for every document and is by default off. If you turn on auto update without making a up/download before the program warns you that the calibration might not match.
I have been unable to find any type of split table or way to adjust timing split. Are you unable to do that with this program or did i miss somthing in the 40+ pages?

FastHatch - please keep a poly function for analog inputs. If it's linear, the function is very simple.

I'm guessing we've seen the last of the updates on this forum. :-( I was really looking forward to using the S/W once the +/- and auto update were added. Oh well, back to the datalogit.

Note: This post is my attempt at reverse psychology. For those that are influenced by this post, please ignore this note.

Definitively not. I just didn't had a lot of time in the last weeks. Please keep in mind that I have a full time job and I've also started studying to get a master of science degree (business informatics).

I'll upload a new version in a few days.
