The fan mod would work with the Power FC. I had Dave from KD Rotary install mine, so I don't know how to install one.

Here's what i did instead. Just pull the A/C relay out of the relay bow in the engine bay. Now turn the A/C on and click the fans to 3. This will kick the radiator fans on high. I do this while driving in traffic and through town where it is stop-and-go. I still have the stock radiator and my intake temps will stay <90 deg C on a 90+ deg day.

I think the fan mod should still work.

When I go to the track, I always pull the AC relay and run the AC button on and the fan on "3" to turn the radiator fans on without actually running the AC. However, my AC doesn't work on "3" now with the PowerFC installed, but the fans still run. This is great; I don't have to pull the AC relay anymore!

You can also get the PowerFC programmed to turn the fans on at different temps. XS programmed mine to run the fans at some temp in the 170s, because I have not seen the water temp hit 180 for several weeks, including sitting in the car idling or sitting in traffic.

The PowerFC has some pretty nice bugs and features from a cooling perspective.

Yup the fan mod still works.

There should be another metal box behind the ECU (if your car had the proper recal done) with a female spade connector comming out of it, just use a switch from Radioshack to ground it.

I saw that module behind my old ecu. So all I need to do is ground the spade connector using a switch right? I think it was at least 10 minutes while car is running. Does this sound right? I vaguely remember reading about this mod.

Ground for 2 min before you turn off the car then for 30 seconds AFTER you turn off the car then turn off your ground switch and the fans will run for 10 min.

Find sombody with a datalogit nearby and just have them reset the temps that the fans come on at...

You'll never overheat again...

Dragon,

Will that (mapping the temps w/ Datalogit) work after the car is shut down? Heat soak issue.

heat soak?...I raced my FD from to top of the island to the bottom of the island, parked my car at the bricks and went to sleep. The next morning, I woke up and checked my Defi water temp gauge...98 degrees was the hottest my engine got...WITH it getting heat soaked.

...I had Dragon turn my fans down with his Datalogit

letting the fans run after the cars shut off won't really do anything with heat soak anyway.. it will only cool down the water in the radiator since the water isn't flowing anymore.. It may get rid of a little bit of engine compartment heat, but that's about it... with the fans turning on sooner (datalogit) the engine never runs as hot and there for has less heat soak and cooler engine compartment temps all the time...

Is there a way to adjust the temp without datalogit? like some way to get into the commander adjustments?

i just did the mod behind your ecu theres a relay with a wire with a female spade on it run a wire from that wire to a switch and then ground the wire coming out of the switch. when u hit the switch it will take 2 mins for the fans to come on and they wiil stay on 10mins after your car shuts of works along with turbo timer
