boosting over 20lbs w/ 3bar map sensor

Theres a ton of info on installing the GM 3 bar map sensor, but I recall someone saying that I had to order something from XS engineering if boosting over 19/20 lbs. Does anyone here boost 25 -28 lbs w/ a Power fc? Any words of wisdom before we tune the car next week? My tuner knows Haltec inside and out but does not have a ton of experience w/ the power fc.

You shouldn't need anything else. GM 3-bar map sensor, change the PFC settings to match the new map sensor, and you should be good to go up to 28 psi or so.

You have to adjust the p-row values to map beyond 20 psi, take a look at the pre-tuning sticky in this section for my explaination on how to do this.

I have a GT35/40 from A-spec tuning, Aggressive Street Port from Atkins Rotary w/ clearanced rotors, water jacket modification, and 3mm Cryo frozen apex seals, 1600 CC secondaries, Aeromotive FPR, RX7.com fuel pump. I do have factory fuel lines and factory primary injectors. How much boost would you run or feel safe with. Ok with blowing up the engine in a couple of years....just not next month. Oh yea, Im at 5280 ft above sea level.

Not over 15-16 psi on pump gas.....if you are seriously trying to run over 20 psi of boost, you'd better have someone who knows what the hell they are doing tuning the car. And run hi-octane......

I have a 55 gallon drum of 108 octane CSP in the garage and BDC came from Texas to tune the car this week. I'm a little too scared to run pump gas.

Why mess with 108? Steve Kan is tuning my car this weekend on VP C16 (118 octane). Gonna see how far we take this power fc.

Hey michael,

you do understand that by running full leaded gas, it kills the life of the sensor to 100hrs. assuming you drive it with full leaded gas, that's 6000 miles at 60mph. on unleaded gas, its around 30,000 miles at 60mph. I don't think $100-200 is really that expensive for the potential you can get by running higher octane fuel.

I figured C-16 would kill the sensor right away...anyways I have a 55 gallon drum of 108 that I will have to use first.

hello i hope someone there can help me. i have bought the pfc and the sell give me the option for turbo base maps. i get it and if i fix everything on my car it does´t work fine, it work really bad. i can only get a half form the throttle sensor, so no full power. if i push the gas pedall for short one the engine get in the higher rpm and so on. i thing i have the wrong map sensor. a friend have allso the pfc and if we compare both ignition bas map´s it look like if my one have the line with the high´st befor ignition time 2 line befor the 10s pressur line. so i thing my pessur line is for 3bar map sensor and the original is only for the 2bar map sensor.
did someone have a turbo base map for with a 3bar map sensor for compare it with my one....
