Boost Problems (Solved)
Hi guys.. I think I seen a post here regarding this issue, but I just thought I'd post this as general information.. I have a basically stock 96 (j-spec) with Y-pipe, factory downpipe, catback and pfc. Recently the car developed a strange boost problem and I was not entirely convinced it was exhaust or vac related. The primary made full, steady boost to transition. The problem only manifest itself once the secondary came on, where it would fail to make full boost. Boost would build until approx >5500rpm where it would begin to bounce wildly between .6 / .7 bar. So after running out of ideas, I saved my dat file and simply reinitialised the PFC. Subsequently the problem has vanished, even after I reloaded my original dat.
I must admit I'm slightly unnerved by the fact that there is no apparent explanation for the cause of this, all evidence points to a problem with the ecu. I had mine supplied and shipped from japan.
Any thoughts / suggestions regarding this issue?
