Damn, I don't get it. My knock numbers are pretty high mid range at 50-90's and my WIDEBAND just doesn't show it. I'll link it up to the Datalogit in the morning or Saturday but visually I'm perplexed.

What else would fool the knock sensor. I know its supposed to be frequency sensitive but is there anything I have that could be confusing it? According to my A/F I am running on the rich side. It's an FJO and I think it would be accurate plus I hear no knocking and smell fumes.

I think that you when you log the AFRs you will see better resolution. Sometimes looking at the display from the wideband makes you think that you are rich enough everywhere, when in reality you may not be. Since our cars move through the map so fast, you cant see every AFR unless you record (datalog) it.

For sure hook it up the WB to the datalogit asap. Then try to get a nice long run on the map watcher, filling up as many cells as possible. Dont forget to look at the "num" (sample number count) on the wideband dataloging.....sometimes you will only log a cell once or twice and it might show up lean (or rich), which may not be very accurate since a count of one means that it was in that part of the map for about 1/16th of a second.

The sensor could be bad....also, have you checked to make sure it is torqued down enough?

Good luck, keep us posted.

Thanks, will do it this afternoon.

I replaced the knock sensor a few weeks ago shortly after I got the PowerFC and saw these high knock values. I wanted to be sure.

I guess there is always the remote chance that one was bad out of the box but I'll check the security on it and get that FJO attached in about 2 hours when I get a moment.

I've been running now for a few days and the FJO + Datalogit combo has been great. The knock values however really haven't changed really...lit's seems its the box with upper corner p3n7 to p9n10 or so. Always max knock in 70's 80's, average 60's. Before n7 and Afetr n10 they go back down to the teens.

My knock readings never go above 6
usually float between 3 and 4

I don't take much stock in the sensor though.

and yep it's a good sensor.

what are your AFRs on the map watcher for those cells? You can also try looking at your logs in .txt form on excel or wordpad and see how many occurances of bad (above 60, per manual) there are.
