AC Fix - Idle Problems
Dear all
I have recently done the ac fix
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=ac+fix
When I turn on the A/C now all numbers work however, often I get erratic idle between 400 - 900 rpm - if I turn the A/C off everything is ok
any views ?
Many thanks
Riccardo

I have tried it out as well as some further tuning of the idle
Unfortunately, approximately 50% of the time, when I turn the A/C on my iddle hunts between 500 - 1000 rpm
Any further hints ?
Many thanks

You should try adjusting the Air Adjusting Screw (AAS) under the throttle body to fine tune your idle air flow. You should try both opening it (CCW) or closing it (CW) in 1/4 turn increments untill you get the most stable idle. If neither way works, then you might need either adjusting the idle speed with the commander and or idle fuel.

Thank you for your response, everything works fine other than when A/C is on (thus mechanical problems are ruled out - we have checked extensively with my mechabnic for theses anyway)
I have played with adjusting the idle speed with the commander and or idle fuel and it works fine, and a few km down the road, for no apparent reason, at the next trafic light it hunts, then again a few miles down the line it is fine again and so on

Did you try what Chuck suggested? When your A/C is on (creating load -- and at a slightly higher rpm if you have the pfc adjusted correctly) the idle responds slightly differently than when under no load. Typically, a slight adjustment to the AAS will take care of this. Also, do you have the O2 feedback turned off on the PFC? This could cause a problem like you describe. And one more thought, the idle between 400 and 900 rpm is lower than where I have experienced this problem, is there a possibility you need to increase your idle rpm slightly on the pfc for the a/c on setting? The typical (good) situation is the idle will stop slightly above where you set it, then drop slowly and nicely into a perfectly smooth idle where you have it set on the pfc.

I have set it 1000 rpm even higher

Yes it works fine, and then at the next traffic light decides to go its own way...when I turn the a/c off...everything is perfect !
Also, do you have the O2 feedback turned off on the PFC?
I think I do, I will check however
Do you think this will help
"Your deceleration fuel cut recovery setting may be too low"
Thanks !
