2002 FD Basemap

I have a JDM 2002 base model FD and I am looking for a basemap that I can drive the car on with out worries of blowing the damn thing up. The car has an aftermarket midpipe, APEXi 3.75" exhaust and an ARC intake. I havent pushed it past about 50% throttle since putting these mods in and have been lazy to install the FC. Would the basemap on the FC be suitable for these mods? If not a point in the right direction for an appropriate map would be great (I own a Datalogit). I dont care if its not ideal, i just want it to drive it and if i push it a bit not grenade the motor. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

The map your looking for doesn't really exist, especially with the aftermarket midpipe.
Until its mapped properly your running the risk of damaging the engine if pushed hard.
I know that's not what you wanted to hear but a tune is cheaper than a rebuild.

Cheers Phil

How does the midpipe make such a big difference?

7.07 Map

OK, lets try this.

Attached is the basemap (v.7.07) that came on the PowerFC, can anyone give any insight on the "useability" of this map?

Thanks!

The base maps are pretty safe on a standard car or one with a few minor mods as the timing is pretty conservative and fueling is normaly rich enough, infact the vacuum areas are normaly overly rich.
Once you start doing major mods like decats and downpipes, the engine will be more efficient and it will want more fuel, the PFC will also take readings from diferent points in the map than it was before.
Boost creep is also a possibility
I'm sure lots of people have run base maps with your mods and not blown there engines but other peoples have, it's a gamble.

I have a 1999 FD map. Mainly 2-3 degrees timing removed above 5000 rpm with more fuel, and rest of map leaner.

My 350 whp full modified non-seq stock ports map timing is not that much different.
Can not compare fuel because of 1200 secondary injectors.

Do you have a WBO2 sensor?

Datalogit it is a great start obviously but really need the oxygen content data to make sure you are good to go.

Recommend becoming a member of the tuning group. PM Arghx for more info.

you can always take a 93-95 version and copy it on the 2002 7.07 version. Do a read all from your computer and start copying

Is there any way to open and view these maps on the PC?

EDIT ... download FC-edit
