i could do the refund idea

I know Dan needs one quickly...anyone else?
I'm also interested in a stock-like lighting (amber?) and potentially two probes?

It looks like there are enough people to make this thing happen pretty quickly. I would suggest that we set two target dates. The first is August 15th, for making the first milestone of 5 buyers and shipping the first batch. The second target date would be September 1st, at which time the final discount will be determined and refunds, if any, would be made for the difference in price from Aug 15th to Sept 1st.
With seven people expressing interest, I think we can turn at least 5 of those into firm sales by the 15th (5 days from now). They can either make a non-refundable deposit of $50 towards the purchase or pay the full amount to count. If indeed we get 5 deposits or sales, the price will be $225 plus shipping. If by September 1st, 2006 we break another threshold, that will be the final discount, and upon the difference the refunds will be made. After that, people may continue to participate in the group buy at that established price but no further discounts will apply no matter how many people come out of the woodwork. The group buy will end whenever we (Pineapple Racing) decide to wrap it up, which could be September 1st 2006 or anytime after that, without notice.
As of today, we have eight kits on the shelf. The lead-time to get more is very short, but the first people to order will have the advantage of getting theirs immediately while he others might have to wait a week.
Those that have identified themselves as participating the the GB may simply go to our web site and place an order in the usual way. Do not place an order on the web site unless you have already identified yourself in this thread, or you won't get the discount. If you use a screen name, be sure to identify yourself with your full name or first name and city, in this thread. PM me if you really want to stay anonymous on the Forum. If I can't identify an order from Joe Blow in Houston as representing a GB participant called xyzrx7lover on the Forum, I can't possibly know if they are in the GB or not.
If you are paying with a credit card, I will hold off processing it until the 15th, and simply charge the discounted amount (presuming 5 participants). Those paying with Paypal, simply pay the regular amount and on the 15th, I will make a refund of the difference. If you want to skip the online store, you can pay directly with Paypal by sending payment to <sales@pineappleracing.com>. This is the preferred way if you only intend to make a deposit at this time. You can also mail us a check or Money Order, but keep in mind that all payments must clear our bank before the item ships. If less than five people pay in full or make deposits by the 15th, the transaction will be processed at full price. If 5 (or more) have joined-in by September 1st, the refunds will be made at that time. If not, no refunds will be given. If you absolutely do not want to buy without a discount, simply wait until I announce that a threshold has been reached.
International buyers can order, but we may need to adjust the shipping charge to match the actual shipping cost. Let me know if you want plain old Air Mail or EMS International Priority or FedEx. Domestic orders will be USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Box for $8.10, unless other arangements are made.
Our web site shopping cart is at: http://pineappleracing.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc.

backlight color?

Do others know what color bulb or diffuser would match the stock dials best?

By the way, I checked and the EGT sensors are NOT 0-5v; they generate a micro-voltage that drives the gauge needle. The only power to the gauge is for the backlighting. We were told by Hewitt that you can still use them for datalogging, but the datalogger must be truly digital and not sap any voltage from the sensor. No guarantees that a Haltech (or similar ECU) would work, but the probes themselves are only $35 each so it's not like the risk is huge.

Blake,
I just went to the Pineapple website to purchase the gauge.
The shipping listed there is $6.45 for USPS Priority Mail.
The shipping quote in this thread is $8.10.
Which shipping charge do I use for Paypal?
