I just bought one of these and I'm just wondering how good this thing really is?
What mods are you guys running with it?
Are you running any other electronics with it (avc-r)?
Any dyno figures or timeslips?
Opinions?

I have it and mine came with a manual type boost controler, but I dont have the PMS controller with it. Tripoint dyno tuned my car with it and I havent had any problems. I'd show you my dyno sheet but its an emmisions dyno and not a Jet dyno, so my readings are all wack... I'll have my car dynoed soon tho, once I get it back. Oh yeah, I basically have every bolt-on on my car, with 99 jspec turbos.

I used it for about 1 year..
All the bolts ons...I now run all the bolts on minus MP and use the PFC. You can get just as much power out if it...I switch mainly due to drivability...I had some bad 3k hes that the PFC eliminated.
I never dynoed with it...but I do have 115mph trap speeds...w/ MP...whatever kind of power that translates too

I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and i'm happy with it so far. I'm running DP, CB, Opened factory airbox. This is what it is tuned for, right off the bat. I keep it in the low setting most of the time, to keep boost stock. I change to middle setting occasionally. Getting ready to see how it does with mid-pipe or high flo cat. Afraid to really mess with it myself, will let shop tune it. Its easy to seriously screw yourself, so be careful. Good luck.

You can still get boost spikes with an open exhaust because the stock wastegate on the twin turbos can't vent off all the boost you are making - you would need to port the wastegate to fix this... which is why I still run a main cat. As for hitting fuel cut, I think the PMS tricks the ECU into not triggering the fuel cut.
I like my PMS, it was installed and tuned by PFS and I never have had a single problem. If you find someone local to help you tune it for your car that will probably make your life a little easier.
My engine mods are: PFS PMS, PFS Intercooler and intake, Efini Y-pipe, Pettit Pully, PFS downpipe, Apexi Dual N-1 catback, and 99 twin turbos... it goes without saying that the car really moves

Check sig
396 RWHP @ 6400 rpm
Should be around 430 @ 7500 with some tuning.
Also im using AVC-R, which I spliced right in the PMS harness.
I do have a stumble around 3200-3300 rpms (right before the secondary inj. come on) under light load, that I cant work out.
Im hoping to get the AEM(haha) or Haltech soon!

Hey guy,
I have all the bolt on's, DP/MP/CB, Pettit intake, M2 Medium IC, PFS PMS obviously, RP fuel pump, RP drag lauch kit, M2/GAB Coilovers. The only problems I've had with my unit was listening to conventional list wisdom. "Add fuel" everyone tells me. Car runs like crap for months before I finally break down and take it to a dyno. Turns out I'm running waaaayyyy rich. Three hours of careful tuning on the dyno and I'm making 320 RWHP@14 psi. All this on an 85K mile engine. Moral of the story, go to the dyno and see what your car wants to run right. Maybe lots of fuel, maybe not. Oh yeah, my engine did just die last night, water seals gave it up at 94K miles. I drove the car hard for 40K miles with varying degrees of modifications and I'm not upset at the failure.

.....oh yeah. All of this with no spikes, no creeps, no ported wastegates or any other craziness. Never even changed a pill in the wastegate lines. Why does it work like that? I dunno. Maybe I just got lucky and got a really good car. Maybe my piecemeal modifications worked well together.
Go figure.

Thats interesting. Well its working just fine. I dont understand why it wouldn't.
Maybe he was talking about the preset maps not being capable of, which come tuned for the 850cc ? Did he go into any detail?

Sweet at ****.
I thought that I wasn't going to be able to use this thing for very long due to fuel requirements,
but if you are running T78 and 1200's on it I'll be fine as long as its properly tuned (wideband).
Thanks alot!

ya i have one too... just haven't found many people using them.. i guess there are.. i still haven't installed mine as i'm afraid to mess things up... i found some maps from Dave Black online because i'm pretty much running the same mods as him.. so i would think that the maps should do me right.. we'll see!

check out wade's site for lots of good info:
http://www.wvinter.net/~flanham/wlanham/
The unit is pretty easy to learn to navigate, not as bad as some might think. a wideband REALLY helps alot.
either rent one or get on a dyno or something -

Personally, I have no intention of upgrading my injectors based on my current mods[listed above somewhere]. 93 R1 - what engine mods are you running or do you intend to run that you think you need larger injectors? If you are not intending to go over 360 RWHP, you probably shouldn't be worring about this. (Sure, I've heard people say they got 400 RWHP on stock injectors but that seems to be the edge of the envelope which I'd never do on my street driven motor.)

p.s. as for the stumble... I've never had it. I'm not knocking anyone by saying this, but make sure your car is running 100% before you add the PMS. This will save you a ton of headaches later.
