decided i didn't like the maroon interior. time for a swap.

dash out

no pics of dash in but it looks like this

also did a front seat and drivers side door swap (the grey one needed a lock, handle, and window regulator. a door swap was easier.)
shot of the cars during the swap.

motor suspended..er...resiting on a 2x4

turns out it needed a new clutch too.

have you also considered the FE3? Im not a 1G guy, so i don't know too much about the F2T and the FE3, just that there are plenty of people making big numbers with the FE3 since its dual cam. I can't wait to see this thing all done

thought about it. but by the time i got an fe3 and built it for boost etc it'd cost a helluva lot more than my f2t.

plus, there's no bolt up ecu for the fe3 for boost. my f2t will go in and be ready to run without any tuning. once i get all the swap stuff worked out (fitment, drivability, reliability etc) then i'll throw on my megasquirt ecu and start tuning the car. (ii've got 2 MS ecu's sitting here so an FE3 or some other sort of swap into anotehr rx7 might be in the works...maybe an M30 from a bmw.....? who knows)

for some reason lately, ive been constantly thinking about taking a KL series motor from the 2G MX6 (i should be getting a blown motor from a friend later) and mocking it up in an FB shell my friend has in his yard. I know someone already did that with a miata and it sounded sweet. i just haven't seen anything from the guy who did it lately. thats a good point about the fe3, if you had time to wire it up with MS it would be freakin sweet, but that would just delay it further. im gonna have to look into adapter plates to fit a TII tranny on the KL when i get it now haha.
can't wait to see more updates of this swap

the front bellhousing off the b2200 is a direct fit to both the TII tranny and the F2T block. works out nicely

not much of an update but i'm currently searching out a trashed b2200/b2000 pickup for parts. once i get a transmission bolted up for some fitment, things shoudl start falling into place.
