VQ in an FC?

VQ in an FC?
I searched, but didn't find anything. Has anyone put an Infiniti VQ into an FC? I think Grannys has a kit for the iron VG. My thought is that you have an aluminum V6 creating 330 horsepower and a 6 speed manual transmission. It's comparable to an LS engine in performance, but two cylinders lighter and shorter. It's my understanding that you loose you power steering with the LS conversion and I have a bad shoulder and need the PS. The Infiniti engine can be purchased for about the same as an LS. I love the FC, but the motor's getting tired and I'd like a little more power.

Keep in mind, the LSx series of motors are known to be underrated. With the LSx swap, you can keep all of your accessories, including PS and AC. I couldn't imagine the LS would be that much heavier than the VQ. How much does the VQ weigh?

It's hard to find info on the weight or length of the motor. Also, the "V" angle may be different so it could be too tall for the FC engine bay.
I thought I read on the Hinson's site that you would loose the power steering with an LS conversion. If I can keep the power steering then the only attracting to the VQ would be rarity, which really doesn't matter that much to me. If it did, I'd keep the rotary.
By the way, thanks for not flaming me for wanting to swap out the rotary.

I was contemplating this swap, and still am. The DOHC system will raise the overall height of the motor and in turn add weight, there for, it might not be lighter than the LSx engines. Also plan on adding forced induction. Most 350's and G35's make 300whp, with all mods for NA. By the time you have spent all the money on those mods you could have gone forced induction for a few thousand more. With forced induction you can get 450+ WHP on the stock block. Build the block and 800+ is with in reach. The research has been done for the LSx engines in that chassis and you should be able to purchase all the components to make it work . the VQ on the other hand will be a lot of custom work , and don't forget about wiring and getting it to run.

I have an FC with a VG30DE engine(search for pics). very easy swap the VQ would be about the same. It just costs more than I wanted to spend. my biggest problem was having to lower the sway bar and relocating the alternator. both took about an hour each. hood clears with plenty of room.

i dig it....pushin stones up hills was never my forte, but do whatever you do, and do it to the best of your ability....right sisyphus. keep us posted on how it goes- very interested, VQ's have one of the most beautiful exhaust notes on the planet, hands down.
