Me too.

I think it was over that page. I'm not sure.

My family has always been all about fram.

Probably because they're orange..... So because my family said it was good, that's what i used. My oil STAYED black as **** in my dsm. Not because of excessive blowby. I ran a catch can to prevent that anyway. I always used synth and changed my oil regularly. Always came out BLACK. Not chunked but black. switched to a pure one and i could actually see through it which means the filter was doing it's job. I didn't change the oil brand, just the filter. That was good enough for me.

I saw your youtube start video! BN kit and PR flag hanging from the rearview on that car, right?

Congrats!

***** for parking that in the street in brooklyn though. I'd be afraid of the **** getting stolen and finding it gutted in queens 3 days later.

That's 3 completed swaps.

I've seen a CA18det in an fc as well.

I already have decided (painfully decided after toying with rb20det, 1jzgte, and sr20det in my head) that a KA24de is being built up for 400hp (will put down less than that but extra protection is nice) and put into the fc. I'm in no rush but i'm hoping i get a call back from a friend wanting to sell his hatch for $800. Has maf/ecu issues but other than that, solid deal and a good start on project 24/7 (2.4L rx7).

WISH ME LUCK GUYS!!!!!

What are the dimensions on your Intercooler? That's a very nice setup.

I would totally do a KA swap if I had the time and energy, they arent bad motors at all. Good luck with it!

I was wondering if you could make measurements of the oil pan so I could duplicate it? Since the inside is empty I just need outside measurements.

i have an 1987 rx7 my dad and i had purchase a good 5 years ago. when we got the car the body was in great shape. there was more rust inside the engine than on the body. motor didn't run. $500. its the basic model no power steering no back seat. no cargo boxes behind the seats. so for $450 i got a new 13b. dropped it in got it running. registered drove it one day. and it broke down. 3 months of trying to figure out why after 15 minutes half the engine would shut down really was upsetting me. so i gave up and purchased a 96 240sx off a friends friend. $2500 check engine light was on. car had 80k on it. took it to a local shop they found a vacuum hose was split. easy fix. been a Nissan fan ever since but have never forgot about the rx7. now. we ended up figuring out the problem with the 13b the primary injector on rotor 2 was off. how dumb. but the reason it was working and shutting down was because the secondary injector was open on cold start. now that it was fixed. my dad was driving the rx7 around to work and what not in the winter time. because it was better in the snow than his van. one day i get a call. sorry son. i blew up your motor. long story short, i have a s14 sr20det sitting in the back of his truck i think i got a good deal on it. $2250 for motor, tranny, uncut harness, ecu, MAF, ignitor chip and shipping. purchased from jdm-online.com. great customer service. im going to begin the swap in the next couple of weeks. your thread helped me decide what motor i was going to be swapping into the car. thank you. ill post pictures when i start.

if you've NEVER done ANY electrical/wiring work before you should probably step back and bring someone in who knows what they're doing

from what i understand you gotta extend the engine harness unless you want to mount the ecu in the engine bay...then connect the rx7 charging/starting harness to the motor also you have to weed out systems like wipers, signal lights and others from the stock harness and run them as well, theres alot of other stuff but you get the idea...im sure theres some good threads on this or forum that cover it in detail. or just find someone who knows wiring and ask em
