So what is the status on this? The car is sold but you still have the jigs. Are you still going through with making these or not?

The cradle is still on hold. I have a great new product that is keeping me busy so the RX 7 stuff is out for now.

I am dropping one of these into my 88 Rx7 Convertible. Your LS1 cradle is a thing of beauty! What are the possibilities of getting one made to mount my LY7?

The latest version of this motor is being put in the new Camaro (304HP) and the CTS DI Cadillacs. I am using an 06 STS as my downer car, it has 255 HP.

Any help would be welcome. I believe this will become a common swap.

Regards,

Al

Yes I have the jigs but I'm not offering the kit or the jigs at this time. I have moved on to other projects and this market seems to get smaller everyday.

Also the roll bar has been sold so there isn't anything to update.

Bummer. So not even on a made to order basis? It makes much more sense to move the engine back a bit. No one else does that.

^^ agreed, id much rather set my engine back 3 inches, not mess with a sloppy shifter extension, or bump steer, and not that it needs much help but im sure it would help the ballance out just that little bit

You guys looking for LSx subframes for your FDs should contact Justin Samberg.

justins is nice, but it doesnt set the engine back, and this one had a nice little lazer cut firewall piece to make it easier, justin said he could send me one with the rack at stock hight and the motor mounts not welded on so i could move them back to were i wanted them, but this would just be a much easier way of doing things if he would build this subframe, and sell it with the firewall panel. and i really like the design on this frame as well

According to Larry the rack was lowered by 1/4" so you would still need bumpsteer correction. Not as much, but you would still need it, so there isn't much of a benefit.

Whoever bought Larry's car got a smoking deal... I would have bought it if I had seen the auction in time.

Another complexity with running Larry's kit that isn't available any longer (just give it up guys) is that the JTR long tube headers need a couple tubes moved around as they interfere with the floor board now.

The one that Samberg Fabrication makes still retains the 50/50 weight distribution like factory. Plus he has them on the shelf ready to go. Something Larry never could do. Hell I live about 20 minutes from him and could NEVER get a hold of him. I know a local guy that purchased one from him and there were many other problems created when you move the engine back like his kit did. Coil packs hit the brake booster, exhaust issues, rear MAP sensor super close to firewall, and other crap I can't remember.

When the rollbar kit first came out I paid right around $1K for it. Gotta love inflation

Get the Samberg Fabrication mounting kit and never look back. He also makes a nice trans mount, and torque arm eliminator diff mount kit. After buying the Samberg parts I would not buy another Hinson product again. Hinson trans mount is a complete garbage and made with angle iron (junk) that continues to rip holes in the floorboard after 4 years of its initial release. Hinson simply is too lazy to change the design. The Hinson radiator kit is also a joke compared to the Samberg Fab one.

i just want to run stock rack hight, or closer to stock then current options allow, if the engine moves back it also eleminates many hood clearance issues so it can come up a bit as well
