FC swap questions

I know I'm new, and this will seem like a very noob-esque post.

A friend of mine currently is restoring an FC and has a extra shell which he will be removing the stock 13b motor, wiring harness and ecu from, leaving behind a solid shell that he is willing to sell extremely cheap. Now myself, coming from other projects such as, 1990 eagle talon turbo fwd, to awd swap, as well as a BMW e30 that I built the m20 inline 6 motor and boosted. I know my capabilities in custom parts fabrication, and if I can't do it on my own I know people who can help me achieve the end product I desire.

With that said, I will be receiving a 1987 turboII shell to do whatever I would like to do with. Current plans will be to make the chassis solid with all new suspension, bushings, and all other new suspension components. Meanwhile I'd like to figure out what would be the best swap for me to do.

I have a friend who may be on here, but I'm not sure who ls1 swapped an FD rx-7, but I am NOT looking to swap in an ls1.
Swaps I've been considering are 2jz, or a SBC-possibly a mild built 350.

I've searched several times on this site, as well as sites such as google and found nothing about FC's having a 2jz swapped into it. The only thing I've found were youtube videos which may not even be real.

My intentions of the project are to keep me busy for a while, whilst not working on something anyone else can just go out and do. Drifting is another possibility I'd like to look into with the car. There is several local events that I can partake in to mess with the car. This would only be a once in a while thing, not something I look to consume my life or pursue as a career or anything stupid like that.

I know a 2jz swap won't be cheap, and that won't be an issue for me, but if the workload is more than 2 years worth I'd prefer not to bother with it and move on to something that will produce a finished product in a timely fashion.

If anyone has done either of these swaps that can provide me more information it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
-Steve

Scottie-GNZ on v8rx7forum.com has a 9 second 2JZ powered FC. If you arent a member there, its a site worth browsing. I don't know of any other Toyota powered FCs off the top of my head, but there could be more.

Thank you, I appreciate the quick response. I'll head on over there now and check it out. I'm not so much going for insane fast, just enough to have the car be fun(which is pretty much a stock 2jz anyways)
