FINIALLY my heads all done, what ever it was free and its now pretty much brand new. clearenced my rings today, had to go by a ring grinder but it was well worth the money as the ring file i tried to use just got ate up by the rings, only took me 30 or so min to do all my rings. i pulled the crank off and am getting ready to re intstall with my new bearings. in the pics of the head i have the cams on there so it could get checked for clearence. also cleaned up my controle arms befor i put my new bushings on.
plans for the rest of the week are getting my subframe bolts out and installing longer ones to work with my spacers i made, hopefully putting my crank and pistons in but that will depend on if i get my hands on some plastic guages this weekend.
i also found a sway bar that im going to make work, it kicks way forword in the middle which is perfect for the longer motor which will allow me to drop the motor down farther as the sway bar isnt in the way. i took it off a Tbird when i was pulling 4.6L out for another rx im building right now too. suprisingly the distance between the frame rails on the tbird are very close to the fc rails so it mounts perfect but the length is what i will have to modify as the bar is a total of 9 inchs longer than the fc one. its all planned out how to work the bar to fit but im going to have to wait till i get the subframe all bolted up. ill get some pics of the bar too.

looks like we actually might be getting a lift in the next few months. yesterday i got my main all put back on and everything spec'd out, put my rings on my pistons and was going to install them but decided i need more assembly lube so its going to have to wait till tomorrow when the stores open back up. i also installed my subframe and controle arms, the subframe is shimmed down 1", its only about .5" lower than my frame so its not going to be an issue with ground clearance as im not slamming it on its nuts. i will have to deal with some bumpsteer but im not too worried at the moment.
anyone have a tip for taking the tie rods off the steering rack?

Great lookin shop, wish i had that much room. Had to leave my 7 in the cold for the first time last night while i was painting my new hood. I was wondering how u can use a stock hood with a 5.0? My air cleaner sits up like two inches to high. Plan on using a cowl induction scoop. Am i havin these issuses jus cuz i went carb and not fuel injection? Cause im using the lowest and smallest air cleaner i can find and i still have issuses.

messin around at work and made my catch can, still need to put the breather on but thats a small task. can has 2 -10an inlits from the vc's, and 1 -10an outlit that drains back into the oil pan, also has all sorts of baffling inside the can along with some steelwole to get the oil to settle befor its returnd to the pan.

got my vc's back from the powdercoater, im very happy how they turned out. also me and my friend got bored again at work and decided to make a muffler for my car. need to finish grinding and blending the welds but i think it will be pretty sweet when done. the can is 8in round by 20in long so its pretty damn big but the fc can tuck it with no problem, the inner chamber is 5in with a **** ton of .188 holes and the inlit and outlit are 4in with a 4.25in tip, can is packed with fiberglass and steelwole.

Took the motor off the stand, got my rearmain on, flywheel on, pilot bearing in, pretty much a full motor again minus the alt. Goal for the weekend is to get the pressure plate and disk on along with the trans, mount the alt and stick er in the car.
On a side not I'm currently buying a house that has 2 giant shops if all goes right It should be mine by jan.

So with the motor in the car I'm seeing tons of room, me and my friend were looking at my gt40 turbo and started thinking twin gt30's would look sick as hell, so question is twin gt30's or one single gt40 or gt42?

You can get the motor with a auto trans for less that 1500, then just source a r154 and your maybe at 2500 after all the clutch and junk, not expensive at all unless you spend the cash on one with a 6spd
