Why lean towards LS1? LSX kits for the FD move the steering rack too, except for Granny's.

The pictures of my car from SEMA do not represent the production kit in any way. We told everyone at Sema, that the production kit would be ready for sale the fist quarter of this year. The kit will made from scratch, using all laser cut parts with the exception of the tubes that connect the sub frame.

The production kit will retain the factory location of the steering rack, so that there is no bump steer issues. When we are ready for the kits to go on sale, pictures will be released of our kit. The kit is made to OEM quality and welded by a Certified Welder who has over 30 years experience.

Since Sema my FD3S now does have a production kit installed and we have been road testing it. The production kit will be ready for sale in the next week to two weeks.

The aftermarket tie rod ends were installed, because they use spherical bearings. The aftermarket tie rod ends have since been removed from my car, due to there lack in quality. The car now has new factory tie rod ends installed.

I hope this sets the record straight in regards to my RX7 and the 2JZSWAP.COM kit.

Regards,
Drew

well tech2drew i have been waiting for this kit and will it be able to use a getrag v160 transmission of just the r154 still? also will the 2jz sit higher than the 1jz? wiring issues complete or is ther any at all? is is plug and play or have to have someone wire it? what about the added weight in the front? do you use custom made coilovers for the added weight?

i think i have said many diff times that if you sent your cars here to my home town joey at excessive would build anything you want custom!! he would bill you along the process of the build and if you stopped paying he would stop the build.

then build the damn k member, trans mount, rear diff brace yourself!!! everything else is the easy stuff. i personally couldnt do the wiring and all the fab work, thats why im paying to have it done... but if you can "do it by yourself" then do it all. why would you even consider paying 2-5k for those mounts????
my talents are tile and hardwood floors. and me working my *** off everyday is what i do... my friends joey and dan (guys doing the build) there talents are mechanics, thats what they do. and thats why im having them do the build

best thing is roachdaiddy's project will be done right!after all the ""i can do the same thing" people never do it they will see his project and be jelous. just me i tried to have it done and got ripped off that why i gave up. but the project itself if very time consuming and very expensive. so if you think you csn do it right and complete for cheap then keep dreaming!

I don't really understand why every one is freaking out about moving the rack. LSX cradles move the rack and we install bump steer kits to fix it. My LSX FD's and handle the same as my stock ones.

I would rather run a bump steer kit under a stock hood than have to run a fiberglass after market hood with stock steering rack position.

I would like it if they made two styles that way the people that don't care about the hood can go that way the I can keep my stock hood and run a bump steer kit.

i have said the same thing many times... id rather have a bump steer kit than a aftermarket hood.
and if you really think about it, the weight would be lower if you did move the rack. and we all know that would make it handle better in the corners.
and a simple bump steer kit could fix any problems you may have?!? seems like a hands down decision to me???

I won't get into this debate, as I've said before: different strokes. The bumpsteer issue was bigger for me. Either way, I hope we are both happy with our builds in the end, and they give us what we want.

Did you get your harness yet? I've seen a few pop up on SF when I looked today.

It keeps getting worse. I got a full fuel system coming now...I swore I was going to stay with a super small single and stock 550cc inj.

I may have missed it, but what coilovers did you got with (or do you recommend)? Also do you have a BBK?

I'm getting ready to order my bodykit from Shine...deeper and deeper.

no i hear you... everyone like diff things.
lol i did find a harness and they have it more than half way stripped of the unneeded crap (more than half the harness).
i have the tein ht, but there are so many options out there. im a tein fan so id have to say id go with them...
im just as excited to see how you finish yours! i have a feeling it went from a 15-20k build to a 25-30k build!?!? either way, if you do end up building it more powerful than planed..... it will be more fun!

Let's just say yes... Unfortunately the roller was missing many things that added to the cost. Just factory Rx7 stuff. This forum was a great help in finding those things quickly. Then I started with: "let's just do USDM bpu stuff", then "small cheap single", then ok "Full-Race (best most expensive single kit) w/stock fuel", then "full fuel", then color change, then polish, then...etc, etc...

I have to seriously stop. I'm over the budget I alloted for this project already, and still many things to address...

have a few more things finished up

short throw is all finished

rear end brace

oil catch can ("people lerking in the background") hahaha

black powder coating on valve covers, ic piping, radiator piping

they also finished the clutch, got the brakes back to working, and farted around with the harness some more. look at all the crap they didnt need on the usdm harness!

The 2 spal fans are finished 1-12 puller and 1-10 pusher. front bumper cover will be put back on for the last time today. 2 a1000 fuel pumps are finished and mounted IN the tank, along with all the inline filters (pics soon). drive shaft was called in to be built a few days ago. really the only thing left if to wire eveything up... i think? hahaha

thanks. there will be a polished spark plug cover. then next fall the catch can, hot and cold side of turbo, downpipe, intake manifold, wolf racing bend will all be either polished or jet hotted. then we will drop the k member, rear diff brace, and trans brace and either jet hot or powder coat those parts. then the whole car will be steam cleaned top to underside!!!

I have to say that I agree 100%. This is one badass build roachdiddy. My hats are off to you and the 2 guys doing the swap. I am a diehard fan of the 2JZ and I love my RX-7. If I still have my 7, one day I will do this swap and build it crazy(crazy like 3.4 Boost Logic stroker, GT55R, 1600cc fuel injectors, 3 fuel pumps, cage, parachute, etc etc).

Again, very nice build and I'm awaiting videos. Take it easy and update us often. Thanks

Dee E.

thanks!!!
oh there will be video, lots of video... if my engine ever lets go. "pray it wont" i will also be doing the brian crower 3.4l stroker kit. but it should hold just fine with the eagle rods and wisco pistons... and if i end up having to do that ill change the turbo to either a gt4202R or that garret gt killer???
but the way it sits should still make 1000hp and thats all i could ask for.
