^Also were you able to do the swap with the getrag without any bumpsteer issues or hood clearance issues?

The getrag would require modification for the shifter as well as a modified driveshaft. But yes, ANYTHING is possible....with money.

Tech2 says that there are no bumpsteer issues with their kit.

They "recommend" using an aftermarket hood like the Scoot hood, for clearance...

Personally, the Scoot hood is my favorite anyways, so I have no problems with that.

I'm going Scoot Hood, '99 front-bumper, '99 rear tails and spoiler, and then just find some side-skirts I like.

jimlab, where did you get your info on the sp 2jz-fd? i contacted them after you said there car switched lanes while trying to run the 1/4 mile. and well they said nothing like that happened. it did have bump steer issues but nothing like you made it sound. so i ask again where you got that info?
on a good note! i have had my car well past 100mph in 3rd and no switching lanes, no feeling as if im out of control, etc. why is that?

From a direct quote they made in a magazine article on the car.

Ask them if their memory is as faulty as their morals... they were going to rip off my bushing design until people said they wouldn't buy from anyone pulling that kind of ****.

why is that?
Maybe your fabricator was able to work enough of the bump steer out that it's fairly stable. Did you ever get a solid answer on how far the rack was moved?

THat car is looking really good! Are you changing the gear ratio out back to bring it closer to what a Supra typically runs?

Are you planning on being at SevenStock in Irvine at Mazda HQ this year?

running the stock fd rear end right now. im having a hard time deciding between the ford 8.8 irs, and the supra tt rear end. prob end up going with the supra auto rear end though.
never herd of it? give me all the details i love to see if i can make it!

My english isnt that good, so i have to ask something: Do u mean with 1.25in, that the steering rack was lowered for 1.25 inch?
Do u get pics of the steering rack? Where can i get such a kit? How is the handling with this kit?

Thx and bye

if u dont lower the rack, u will have a better handling right? So why did u had to lower the rack? Did u put the engine deeper?

I thought u have no chance to let the rack stock because of the depth of the 2JZ?

You have to bring that car to Sevenstock XI:
https://www.rx7club.com/west-rx-7-forum-193/announcement-sevenstock-xi-748673/

There will be a bunch of LS1/LS2/LS7 powered FD's as well.

I have a Viper Dana 44 3:07 diff if you are interested. They withstand 1400rwtq twin turbo V10 Viper punishment.

These guys can make the axles: http://www.gounitrax.com/viper.htm or http://www.driveshaftshop.com/madza.ivnu

Roachdiddy,

if you go with the supra tt rearend go with the Manual one. Second if you do go with either the auto or manual rearend do you have to get custom axles made? and if so who makes custom axles?

Roach,

Go with the 3.13 from the 6spd supra. The v160 is geared for the 3.13 and let me know when you hit 200mph.

if you can keep it in stock location it is the best... but if you lower the rack 1.25in and you install a 1.25in bump steer kit you are also fine. didnt change better or worse.

no you dont "have to move" the rack. only if you want to run the stock hood and the getrag
