Wanting To Trade My '85 Rx-7 for an Rx-2 Rx-3 or Rx-4

Hi Guys,

First off please excuse my post in this section. I realize that this thread probably belongs in the classifieds, but there really isn't any section for old school rotary classifieds. Also, I am hoping it will get more serious people looking at it in this section. I have been working for the last couple of years on my 1985 Rx-7 and I have pretty much finished the restoration, and I am looking to possibly move on to another project. I am interested in an Rx-2, Rx-3, or Rx-4. I'd like to get something in fairly respectable condition to start with, but I'm open to hear any interesting offers anyone might have. I'm willing to drive to pick up the car if necessary. I am located in Richmond, Indiana. Here are some specs on my Rx-7.

1985 Mazda Rx-7 GS
-Approx. 90,000 miles
-12A Engine
-Racing Beat light flywheel
-Racing beat exhaust
-Rebuilt carburetor
-New Radiator
-New clutch disc, pressure plate, and hydraulics.
-Accel 8mm plug wires
-New brakes & Master cylinder
-New battery & Battery cables
-Mechanical fan to Electric fan conversion
-Front mount oil cooler with braided stainless lines
-Converted from automatic to 5 Speed manual
-Holley fuel regulator
-Carter 7 lb. fuel pump
-Fuel tank has been lined and restored.
-Interior restored
-Grant steering wheel
-Car just painted white
-MSD Blaster 2 Coils
-Triangulated strut bar
-Fire extinguisher
-Pioneer CD Player in glove box
-Lots of other stuff I probably forgot....

I probably have about $5000-$6000 invested in this car overall. It is VERY quick, and nimble. It handles very nicely, and it is a blast to drive. I also have a set of wheel adapters and 16 inch wheels that I would be willing to trade along with the car. The engine revs smoothly all the way up to 7K. With the mods I have done you can still make your passengers involuntarily stare at the headliner. If anyone is interested, or would like to shoot me an offer please feel free to do so. My email is Glazedham42@aol.com or you can just post in this thread and I will find it. If anyone would like some more pics please ask. Thanks guys! Later....

Jamie

It is a Grant steering wheel, with a custom horn button that I made myself. I think it turned out pretty nice. Got the wheel for $15 on Ebay.

If I'm going to sell it outright I'd want enough $$$ to buy another decent project at least... I'd have to think about it really... are you interested in buying it outright? I hadn't really considered that possibility, but I guess if the price was right I'd be willing to let it go...

Got any pics of the Rx-2? How far gone is it? I wouldn't mind a good amount of work, but I don't know if I have it in me to bring one back from the dead again... Oregon is pretty far away from me too..

I am interested in buying it if you decide to sell. Please e-mail me some more pictures to stealthm68@yahoo.com. Has the car been in any accident and do you still have the A/C system? Did you rebuild the engine and is it stock or street ported?

Still entertaining interesting trades and/or offers. Feel free to pm or email me. I would prefer to trade cars with someone rather than sell outright...

Thanks a bunch. I have worked my tail end off on this car and I am pretty proud of it. I feel like it's time to move on though...

thats the truth. its just cause all the good cars to came here first.
But I might be selling my better RX2, its kinda rusty, which would be the only reason to sell it. Cause I dont think i will be able to fix it, with what little talent I have with body work and all. thought i would throw that out there. but the car runs great, and handles well i think. not quite as good as my 88 RX7 did but really well for its age. IF your really interested i have been thinking of selling both my cars togather so all the body panels needed would be there. lates matt22

That is a nice Rx-2. That is pretty close to what I'm looking for... Have any interior pics? Wish you weren't 1000 miles away...
