Slots instead of camber kit

thats what I think he did as well b/c on my rx-3 the strut tower goes up and overlaps onto the plate and is plug welded . he looks like he just cut it off at the "cap" used the old as a template and got some thick steel to cut n shape then stitch weld back on. because those "fins" at the top of the strut tower arent there OEM.Does look straight forward though-erik

Mel, if u want some camber plates, call ground-control.com and see if they'll make you a set. They've done them in the past. Or they can get you in touch with someone in NorCal who has.
Wayne was real FAST out @ BRP that day. Who woulda thought a leaf sprung rear and aerodynamics of a brick could do so well.

thanks for the input guys. Brad yeah, Wayne is a one hell of an old school driver. A very nice guy when I met him at open track day @ BRP. Gave me the specs on his car but I forget to ask about the front suspension. I wanna be like him when I get old... a Fast Revving Old Geezer.
And Billy, let me know when the camber kit is ready.
Thanks again.

Hey if you want to you can send me a sketch of what you want. Include enough dimensions and I'll draw some up in Solid Works for you. Im planning on drawing a set for my final with the shock, spring, lower controll arm etc. Maybe even a Sway bar/ radius arm. The Rx3 strut tower is essencially the same as the Rx2 right? I can use my Rx3 to get some dimensions from. What kind of springs would you use? They'd have to be of a smaller diameter than the stock ones since the spring would other wise hit the inside of the strut tower. The same for the spring perch and strut mount and bearing of.course. My instructor is a machinist and I can ask him how much it would cost to make them. It'd be a while though. I have to make them from scratch.

Here is what i run on my 3: I like the idea of the basic plates like this, vus they have ben proven to be strong, i would be a little worried on the slotted ones above, if they didnt have like 1/4 plate reinforcing them, but it looks like he did a pretty giid job at that. I just wouldent recoment only using like 1/8 inch plate welded in then slotted, i think you would be asking for trouble.

This is my 4 and as you can see the adjustment is for caster and since it ha 2nd gen front and rear the mounts for the spindles the up bolt hole is slotted for camber sorry there is no pic for that

Oh heh yeah I guess so huh. The strut tower on my Rx2 is molested so bad that I never really looked at it. Looks like it would work great on my FB though. I just kinda drew it up from memory. It was my final project for a Solid Works Class and there's only so much time to get finals done. It would not be out of the question to make it a 3 hole configuration. I'd have to do more research any how and see what shocks and springs would work best. Probably some sort of a coil over setup. Maybe even design a lower spring perch that could replace the factory unit so that a set of eibach springs could be used with it. Lots of measurements needed. Really the only part that would have its configuration changed is the plate that bolts to the under side of the strut tower. The other parts would likely just need to be changed dimensionally so that they are not too big or too small etc.
It could definately be done though. The tough part is finding enough people interested in the product to make it worth it. There's not all that many old school owners out there. Even fewer that want to pay a fair price for a kit like this. but if there were very many people that showed interest then it could be done.
All the money is in popular new cars. I should make a setup for the Pontiac Solstice. JK.

Thanks Brad. I decided to use the GC set up. Now I got to order the camber gauge from Summit and find my flare tool to change the stock brakeline's end fitting to FB style.
Also, can you or someone can recommend what degrees to run on the camber kit?
Thanks again.

I've got about 1.2 degrees negative in the front with K-Macs in the Rx2. It wanders a bit on big *** grooves in the road, but fine every other way. Doesn't plow anymore under hard cornering. It's not shreading my tires, either.

Another front suspension option, inexpensive and nice work, I got mine just not in yet pending springs.
