Rx3 rims back space 16x7 & 16x8
what would be the best back space for the front of an rx3 with 16x7 in the front and 16x8's in the rear.
also as for tires i see that most people use 205/ 40 all around. But, would 215/40 fit in the front too with a 7" rim. and 225 or 215's in the rear with an 8" rim fit without any issues?
i'm in the process of getting some custom wheel adapters made from 4x110 to 4x114.3. and the rims that i'm starting off with all have a +30 offset with the 7" in front and 8" in the rear
thanks!

in the front i can bolt-up a 16x7 +30 offset with just 5mm or less to spare. thats about 131mm or 5.2" in back space. so a rim would just about scrape the strut housing with 136mm back space.

bolt the wheel and set it on the ground measure between the edge of the wheel and the inside edge of your fender or where you think it should be at with out rubbing the fender. The measurement you get is how your adapter thickness.

Does anybody know if a 15x7 wheel will fit on the front of my rx2 with a +20 offset and 4.75" backspace?
I'm a little concerned that these wont fit, as you've got to get wide wheels pretty spot on in the front of rx2's as there isn't much room

Rears you have more room to play with , you can have quite deep backspace as there's heaps of room on the inner guards. It depends on how you want the car to sit. 0 offset on a 8" sit the rim out a bit, close to flush with the guard. You could go back as far as +30 ish if ya want tho
Get a basic 7" rim, figure out the offset and do some measuring .Its easy once you get ya head around it!!

i just checked out the rear and a 16x8 with +30 offset would bolt-up with more then a fingers space from the leafspring with atleast an inch more to more out. looks like a 9inch wide rim would fit no problem on the rear of the rx3 coupe. as for me looks like i can go with a 225 tire in the rear with about a 20mm spacer.

you're so wrong for using offset and backspace in one paragraph

care to explain why perhaps?
thats what the wheel supplier quoted me and I don't see why you can't mention backspace and offset in the one sentence. A different offset is going to result in a different amount of backspace, how are these two measurements possibly not relevant?
no need to make silly comments when clearly you have no idea what you're talking about.

[QUOTE=wackyracer;9450005]this is to back it up. doesnt stick out at all. you need proper backspace.

Ok just finished updating my pictures... So what's the backspacing and offset on these wheels again.

Here's a two set of wheel's on my 3 one set are 16x8 and the other are 15x7.5. (old pictures by the way) I'd tell you what the offset's and backspacing's are but according to wacky I cant use the same word in a sentence. Plus its been so long ago that I probably dont remember any more.

Wheels are usually sized with diameter, width and offset. You could specify backspacing in place of offset, and someone could calculate the offset. If you were told the offset and backspacing you could calculate the width. All told it is just more straight forward to use width and offset or even width and backspacing, but using offset and backspacing is the least clear way to describe a wheel. Least clear, but not wrong.
