Hey fellas, long time fan, rotary Newb. Been coming across some sick photos of the old school rotaries, was wondering, is the RX3 or 4's able to be modified to an independent rear end set-up or is it too much trouble to even think of.......... any info on this an other RX3/4 mods would be hella helpful, or sites that have part upgrades info I'd be stoked to have.........

To the best of my knowledge you would have to design and build that setup yourself. There isn't much available for the Rx-4's in the way of aftermarket upgrades. Some parts from other cars can be made to work with the car. There are a few more aftermarket upgrades available for the Rx-3's though.

 

it'll take some research to find but there's a thread that's ages old by now where someone had done alot of fab work to the trunk area for the strut towers and put an independent rear(don't remember from what) in his rx4. the car was yellow and had some terrible looking wheels on it. some of the long time members probably remember the car i'm talking about.
