RX2 hoods

Does anyone know if the RX2 sedan and coupe hoods are interchangeable? And also what about the trunk lid too?

Hoods are the same, trunk lids are different between coupe & sedan.

Speaking of hoods & trunk lids, has anyone seen the carbon fiber ones on eBay in person? They look to be pretty decent quality. I was emailing with the guy who makes them and I guess he just finished some trunk lids. They look like coupe lids, not sure if they're going to do sedan lids but I'll try to find out.

yeah, it's the same guy. Just look through his store on ebay and you'll see the hood too.

I think the trunk lids were going for 289.00. I dont' see a big weight savings in the trunk lid. The stock one is pretty light, so unless your stock one is rusted away, then I think the carbon fiber one is a waste of money, especially at 300 bucks. The hood is 300 also. I don't get why the trunk lid is the same price when it is half the size.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing on the trunk lid. He didn't confirm if he was making the sedan trunk lid, which is the one I would need anyway so we'll see..

I was actually working on a group buy rate with him, anyone interested? Maybe I should start a thread on it if there's enough interest. I want 2 myself and I have another friend in the bay area who wants one. I'm in Sac though so they will have to be shipped. He said shipping would be nearly the same for 1-8 hoods so I'm trying to get at least 4 for this area. Perhaps if we had 8 people committed the price would drop even more. I can ask him about it. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

If anyone picks one up in person definitely post their opinions on it.

thanks,
Mike

I will also check and see if the guy makes any other carbon fiber products for the duce...like the fenders and other nick nacks like that...

Looking at the trunk thats made out of carbon fiber looks way nice, and the quality looks really good as well...but who knows till he/she see it...Im just waiting for a response and some information from the dude to get an address from him...

Yeah, good luck the guy never answers his phone. I have been trying to get ahold of him for three days now. Best bet is to send him a message on ebay. He responds to them pretty regularly.

Yeah, this guy is a real slacker. I was going to go buy his shop on Friday and maybe pick up a hood, but he never answers his phone or returns his voice messages. Maybe he went out of town or something? Still.... how hard is it to return a phone call? I thought we were in a recession, but yet there are still people out there with businesses that don't give a damn. I just don't get how these people make a living.

Naw, I didn't bid as that trunk lid will not fit my sedan. I did however get a response from the guy on ebay. He told me that he is on vacation and will not be back until this thursday. Let me know how the dash turns out for your duece. I want to get an aluminum dash for mine too.

Well that shouldn't be a problem...maybe me and you can go in on the deal..I could make one easy in no time here but i don't have a punch to make nice designs and **** with some kick...It would be a plane simple flate front cover and a plain flat top cover, and the curve to mold nice to the windshield...I might do one for the duce this weekend...I have been so lazy in fabbing my **** up i may be taking a break from fabbing or lost intrest in it all together...I will se how it feels this weekend...If i get the material i will keep you updated...

Anyways the guy here on the forum and you have a few open convo's with him owns and drives that black primered sweet ******* drag car mentioned that mazda rob maybe the guy were looking for...Mazda rob sold his duce for 6g's then the customer sent him another 13g's to have a sweet 13pp built and dropped in before it was delievered...Ask him where the shop up north by you so we can make something happen!!!
