http://www.pistonvsrotor.com/ check that site out and bro your in Puerto Rico do you know how many Datsun 1200 rotarys are at the tracks? A freaking shitload more than I can count with my fingers and toes. Most people use an early style front cover 1985 and earlier with the front mount. And then they put a 1/2in thick and 5in wide flat stock bar under the crossmember and cut the crossmember to make room for the oil pan. Use a oilpan from a gslse or buy the Moroso oil pan, that's the one I have, and I'm running flat stock to the frame rails and fabricate your own mounts. Mine are solid I don't have to worry about rubber mounts and my transmission mount is even easier. Flat stock staight across to the frame rails all solid mount. And you will have to cut the firewall nowhere around that unless the car was an automatic then you don't have to do anything it will clear. Or if you can get an automatic tunnel it's pretty easy to put it in and it will look factory. And yes my car is a Datsun 1200 and I have a 13BREW motor in it.

I am also interested to see how you guys are making your mounts as I am putting a 12a into a 1200 sedan up here in the cold north.

Motor will fit with out cutting crossmember but will need to cut the top of the tunnel off and remake it once the engine is in with trans. Will also need custom trans crossmember. I did one 5 years ago. Now the car is back and I am building a new back half with all new front suspension and a narrowed 9". 13b will be turbo'ed so room is really tight so far. Still trying to get things to fit and allow for cooling. Have car cubby holed for the time being till customer brings all the front suspension.

Not trying to be an *******, but be carefull WHO you trust, not everybody that claims to know the rotary engine actually knows them...

My .02 cents

And that includes me, I mean setting the engine on the car is no biggie, tuning it, etc, be careful

im gonna do my own tunning and fabrication , not that hard since racing beat already has a carb set-up for 13b bridgeport ,all i need to do is fine tune it.

all i need is an extra hand to take the stock engine and trans out and swap the 13b into the car, but my uncle is probably gonna help me do that since he has an engine lift.

the only thing that i dont like is the whole solid mount system , could i use the ruber half-mounts rom the gsl-se and then fabricate the center section?

Never seen that on a rotary engine trasplant, but that shouldn't be a concerned, lots of 8-9 seconds cars in PR & US run this solid engine mount setup without problems; not to mentioned the easiest way of doing it.

However this is part of the "fun", trying it for yourself, no matter what other people say

was reading up on engine mounts ant racers say that solid mounts help with launches, so im going with the solid mounts.

BTW im going to do a write up on the swap, the rebuild, and the body work.
