thanks dudes. here's a video of it running, not the greatest, but it gives you an idea. you can also see that I've made my tail lights all red (besides the backup lights) and I'm working on making the chrome trim white.

ha, thanks. haven't tried donuts yet, but I've drifted it and done clutch dump burnouts where I kicked it out real far a few times. I need to get myself some "drift" tires and wheels for just the back. I'll figure out the cheapest tire size that will work out and get wheels based on that, then , I'll be set. I already have 2 14" VW tear drops laying around.

I'm seriously convinced that there is no better engine for a light car than a rotary, the fact that they were banned from pretty much all forms of racing because they were too good says quite a bit, driving a car with one can make pretty much anyone a believer though. I can't get over how much I love my engine, and how much more I'd love a 13B or something, or how much more I'll love this one ported.

Yeah some cheap tire are a must. At least you have some room under the wheel wells for 14". I'm stuck with 155/80 13's unless I tub it, but they are only $15 ea. I'm new to the rotary thing, never driven one before. So I'm hoping for the best with this Bugeye project. Everyone says I will like it. Hoping to find out soon. Maybe I will be able to drift it too, that would look cool.

new pictars, in rotary related news, I think I have my carb nearly dialed in, I still need to extend the accelerator pump link, but it's adjusted about all the way, and it's working okay like that for now, can't wait to get it working great.

thank you sirs, not sure what I'm doing next to be honest, I've rebuilt the clutch slave cylinder, fixed the mess of wires on the interior, and thinking I'll continue fixing up the trim pieces a little at a time, maybe trying to get the red door to almost match the rest of the car for now, maybe wheels, maybe redoing the front suspension (as in building my own basically)... yea, those are just some things I'm thinking I'll be getting around to eventually, couldn't tell you exactly what's happening next, with things like this I usually spontaneously choose to do things and make them happen right away, but I can tell you that I'm not repainting the entire car until next spring at the earliest. I just don't have the energy, especially since I'll be starting school again next week. I pushed pretty hard to get the car drivable this summer, considering that I bought it late in may, and had it driving by early august, I'm pretty happy with my accomplishments, so I'm just going to do a little at a time until I quit driving it for the winter. I plan on doing some serious work on it then.

just take a look at this crap that was in the car before I replaced it with rotary greatness.

My 12A will NEVER have that problem.

Freshness:

I also raised the control arm mounting points (lots of hacking and welding for that) and I'm running toyota MR2 struts. I had to shorten the struts and instal some spacers in the strut housings to make them work. the strut housings are 2-1/4" shorter than stock. I'll only post more about that on here if requested since it's not rotary related besides the fact that it's on this car.

anyways, I'm loving my car more than ever, it was bottomed out before, now it's not. going to try and get a few guages working in there next, about to do a little research on here for that.

nice one,, there is a 318 near me in perth WA with a 13bt driveline !

nearby there is also a ultra rare factory 1602 cabriolet ( about 1967 ) that the owner contacted me regards adding a 13bt ,, though i convinced him the rarity should keep it with a 316/318 engine

less than 30 of these are known to still exist worldwide and apparently this one was of the first batch,,rare in RHD - with a stupidly low production number
( something like number 6 ! )

nope, I think it over heated or something. the upper deal for the upper radiator hose on the stock plastic radiator was broken off when I bought the car. the engine was also seized. once I took the head off, I discovered that, and it turned freely... a heavy gutless engine like that didn't belong in this car to begin with though, so good riddance to that.

staticguitar313, the interior is a bit better than before, some things are cleaned up, and I'm planning a little work to that. I kind of have a nice E 30 back seat installed, but it doesn't fit all that well. maybe an air hammer will assist me with that.

I've also messed with the front seats a bit. I think I'm going to have to ditch the stock carpet and weld deals on the floor to mount seats. on these cars, the outside deals where the seats bolt up are higher than the inside ones, too high to mount pretty much any seat on besides a stock one, so I can't just space the other side up... not sure if I made that make sense or not.

IaMtHeRuThLeSs1, I have another set of wheels, some 15's. I just need to buy tires. I'm holing off for a bit for monetary reasons though.

also, if ya'll are interested, I'll post up my sub frame and strut mods, they made this into a completely different car. it was bottomed out before, and now it's a little lower than before and it has travel. I'm very happy with it. thanks to my engine mounts being built off the unibody rails, I was able to just drop the sub frame out without any concern for the engine.

that's a good idea, I might have to get on that.

thanks bugeye RX, there are quite a few flaws in the paint when you see it in person, but I'm planning a couple more coats of paint with some clear over it... maybe some wet sanding will get worked into the process as well, depends on how ambitious I get.

anyways, a bit of an update, did some interior work today:

if you have any curiosity about my front suspension mods, this should sum it up:

I was going to post it all on here, but that would have taken forever since there is a 12 pic limit per post for me apparently.
