Project rx4
Hello, Well this is my story!! I always wanted a original 73-74 RX4, after looking for one for a while I found this one. it's needs a lot of work but is a complete and original car. the last registration was in 1980, with 26k so the car ran for 6yrs!! ( I have the regi paper) and the plate. the speedo now reads 27k. I have the original bill of sale and insurance, regi and is the same owner true out the 6yrs. so I'm the second owner. My guest is the car and owner was in some trouble then cuz it was hit in the front and the glass was busted and the D-door and Q-panel got bullet hole!!!!HUMMMM. anyway now the car is mine!!! I will need your Help!! I will like to get a rolling car for all the parts I need.
I WILL APPRECIATE ALL YOUR HELP....T-YOU...CHILY-WILLIE.
I have all the moldings rotor caps and ring!!

OP- wow you have a big project in front of you good luck with the build. are you going all original or are you looking to madify it a bit?
I have a few stock pieces I am going to be getting rid of.. like the crome on the rockers for both sides, bumperettes, all engine stuff(carb, manifolds wires and clips, irons) shoot me a pm if you are looking for anything and I will see what I got

No disrespect but that car looks like its gonna be more trouble to fix than anything else. I would go with another car, and use this one for parts. Good rule of thumb is to of course start with a better shell so you dont have to spend so much money with the overall build.

OK. I started with the disassemble. By my suprize the frame rail and the floors are good, the strut towers and the front frame are good, the worse will be the r-side Q-panel, the lower rockers and the front right Floor brace. the rest of the car is not bad as it looks.
I know is A BIG JOB!!! BUT I WILL SAVE IT!!!! with god's Help and your support.

john smack has a tire pan for you. ^
The car just needs love.
If you are desperate for parts look at Australia web sites.

The 929 and RX4 share parts. The only difference is the 929 has pistons.
929 and RX4 parts are more abundant in Australia.
I have a 76 RX4 just waiting to be fixed up. I just can't do it at the moment.
If you need help... post and ask away.

Thats what I had to do and mine is just a crappy glc...parts are gonna be hard to get for that. Its part of the "charm" of these projects. Its no fun ( in my book) building a car that you can just open a parts catalog and get everything you need. The hunt can be just as enjoyable as watching the build take shape and you get to meet some enthusiasts like yourself to boot. Set realistic goals for yourself and the car and give enough time, energy and of course money to reach them...you will be fine.

Focus on a section of the car at a time....try not to overwhelm yourself with the WHOLE build at once. If you start to feel like its taking forever or you are tired of a particular task is becoming toooo tedious, let it alone and do something more enjoyable so you can stay motivated. Attend some local meets and events...look at other complete projects for ideas and inspiration. This isn't the kind of car thats gonna get done in 6 months and then its done. You can do this!
