Need some RX3 info

I love old school stuff so I finally decided to spend a little money and make an offer on this 1973 RX3. Its in awesome shape except the front brake calipers need to be rebuilt and and it has some rust around the front and back window corners. The car comes with TONS TONS TONS of extra parts, I'm talking a full mint condition dash, body panels, drive train parts, tons of little tid bits. The guys the 2nd owner and bought it back in 83. He knew parts were hard to get so anytime he ran across rx3 parts he bought them. Well they all go with the car and I dont need hardley any of them. This is like a 18 foot trailer totally stacked with parts.

This brings me to my couple questions....are there any old school rotary specific forums that would be good to sell this extra stuff on (somewhere besides ebay)

Is there a good place to buy some RX3 stuff like brake caliper rebuild kits, struts, front windshield, carpet?

Does anyone have any experience with rust removal around the front and rear windows? How hard is it, there is one tiny spot where its all the way thru and I want to have it repaired quick before it gets out of hand. If anyone has ever had that done....how much did it cost?

I'll post some pics of the car later if we end up working out a deal, the car is bad ***. The rust is pretty minimal and really only in a couple small places that were prone to rusting on a rx3. Its slammed to the groud and has a full race suspention where he designed the strut towers so make the ride height, camber, toe, fully, stiffness fully adjustable with some bolts at the top of the strut tower. He was a chief designer for a lot of race teams in the 70's and when he quite in the early 80's he bought this car to "tinker" with. Its freakn sweet you guys will love it. The entire car has been gone thru and set up for road racing but it still has a full stock mint interior (except bad carpet) with a Sparco racing seat for the driver.

I know I mentioned a bunch of crap in my post BUT, I really am in bad need of two things. A rebuild kit for 1973 RX3 front brake calipers and a front windshield.

BTW - I dont want to upgrade the calipers or anything I really just want to fix the stock ones because they have been modified to fit a large vented rotor so I REALLY dont want to replace them.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

Thanks man but I actually have a set of stockers and stock rotors...I just want to use the stuff thats on it cause the rotors are much larger, vented and crossdrilled. The stock calipers took a lot of custom work to make them fit so I dont want to have to undo it all to downgrade to stock stuff.

I was kinda hoping there were rebuild kits for them but Im starting to think there arent. Thats going to make for a pain in the *** if there are no rebuild kits available lol

BTW man, I did some searching and saw your RX3...what a awesome car! Very Very nice and the fender modification part in the back is outstanding

OK...Here is a rebuild service for you guys and they say they can rebuild any caliper.

I called for a 1973 RX3 he said he's dont tons of them over the years, wont be a problem and its $59.95 for each front wheel. Plus I'll have to pay round trip shipping. So I'd imagine about $150 total shipping and all.

Not bad in my opinion....

I got my rebuild kit from AutoZone for $10 I think, I rebuilt the calipers myself. It's very easy to do.

keep all part #'s and from where u got them. chances of finding a part by PN is better than by vehicle, especially the old school rotarys. i'll look thru my list and see if i still have the # for the caliper kit.

Did you guys find that the pistons needed to be replaced or were you fine with just the seal kit? I was hoping to do them this weekend and I'll have a seal kit today but the pistons were going to take till Monday or Tues before I got them. Hoping I dont need the pistons. Guess we shall see.

I figured while I was in there I might as well replace them. You know "Cheap Insurance." But they didn't need replaceing.
