Mazsport, Rotary Miata conversion kit...
Contents of Rotary Miata conversion kit.
Rotary Miata conversion kit. What's included? you may ask yourself.... Well here's a very basic draft of what to look for from the team at Mazsport.
INCLUDED WITH KIT:_______________
Custom Aluminum Oil Pan
Engine Mounts and custom Brackets
Modified Subframe, on exchange basis.
Transmission subframe, misc brackets, transmission mount
Differential locater
Rear axles
Modified/custom fit Slave cylinder hard-line
Relocated/modified clutch hardline mounting tab
OPTIONAL ITEMS THAT MAY BE INCLUDED_________ (some highly recommended for turbo rotary applications).........................
Modified fuel line
Modified/custom fit brake line(s)
Modified/custom fit Coil mounts
Radiator Brackets
(Radiator must be mounted futher back towards engine to provide enough area for custom (front mount intercooler pipes to clear)
Stock top mount intercooler may be used, but provisions in factory hood must be made. IE: hood scoop must be adapted to stock Miata hood to provide ample cooling for TMIC.
Optional modified/custom A/C bracket must be installed if A/C unit is going to be left in working order.
I'm sure there are going to be ALOT of questions regarding this Conversion kit. A detailed instruction manual is going to be released with the kit as well.
PLEASE NOTE: This kit will require many custom brackets, relative level of difficulty is __HIGH__ for an install like this. You will also need access to welding equipment.
Unfourtunatly at this point, power steering is __NOT__ an option.
Obviously either a turbo rotary engine or N/A rotary engine's can be fitted into the chassis.
We will have more photographs and much more general information to come in the following weeks ahead.
PRICE: unfourtunatly cannot be discussed over the
forum. Please E-mail me for Price, estimates.... ect..ect.
Futher questions may be directly sent VIA E-mail to me at Mazsportparts@hotmail.com
Have a good day gentlemen,

you want to put a rotary in a miata and push the radiator further BACK in the engine bay with a FMIC in front of it w/ a smaller opening for flow than a normal rx-7? That's risky business man...

someone is avoiding the priice issue
anyone who is thinking of doing this would need MORE specs.... some companies have tryed this and fell short w/ certain solutions. ex. a possblie issue of ripping the front of the motor off ,at say... 500hp ,to make mounting easier.

what would this kit cost?
what year core would you use?
if you make a kit then im sure one must supply an engine.
Gen 2 axles and rear im guessing?
why not use the torsen rear since its already there and bolt up if not. If people wanna push 300+ hps then a rear should be an option.
maybe im thinking too much since im into my own project....

13b-rew rotary miata, single turbo, widebody....
Here is a car i've been working on for about 3 years now and finally got it done this past month where i took it to a large auto show in Chicago. The rotary converion seems to be popluar but not many people do it so i thought it put it up here to show one of the few and far between rotary converisions that are done and if any one has questions just msg me. you can pm me or im quite easier reached at my email info@compositeenvisions.com I (i mean me or me/w friends) have done nearly all the work ourselves. From applying suede on the dash to creating the carbon fiber panels from scratch (raw fabric and resin). I should beable to answer any questions.
The motor is a 13b-rew turbo rotary from a 3rd gen rx7. The motor was rebuilt to withstand 29lbs of boost. The entire miata was pretty much stripped clean of any miata mechanical parts and were replaced with 3rd gen rx7 parts. The transmission, rear diff, brakes, hubs, axles, suspension, steering, front and rear subframes, wireharness, pedals, gauges and even the windshield wiper motor is from an rx7. Basically anything that is mechanical on the car is upgraded to rx7 and just the shell of the miata remains.
The amount of work was incredible... the engine sits down and back..thus the shifter lever is moved back 3 inches..which makes it not fit. The tranny tunnel had to be cut out and also a fiberglass console made to accomodate the new shifter location.....and thats just the beginning. lol. nothing on the car fit from the start. Anything that is miata had to be custom fabbed and anything purchased for an rx7 had to be fabbed to fit since the miata is smaller... custom wire harness conversions to run the oem heater box off the rx7 wiring.. and the list goes on... I can help answer any questions anyone has.
Here is a video of the car and dyno

a small write up of it is done here.

there are a few pictures on here but there are more things left out than what are showed. The underbody of the car was covered in carbon fiber sheeting from front to rear. I can also take photos of the car if asked. Visit the video above and click the photos link. There are many more photos on the streetfire website as well.
the car put down 366rwhp/290lbs on the dyno. The car was on a conservative tune to prevent any risk of detonation, under about 16/17lbs of boost while it will be tuned next time at roughly 22-23lbs and also higher octane fuel. Looking to get around 450whp at the next dyno run. Ive always wanted a car that was scary to drive and this is pretty damn scary fast. lol.

Everyone has their own issues.... A couple I might have to say from my experience is the front subframe sits very low...which is awesome for a track car. low center of gravity but not so great for the road. I put coilovers on mine and the front subframe is roughly 1.5-2" off the ground.....another would be the rear suspension... Most people would leave the oem miata suspension but i converted it to rx7 in the rear as well as the front...the length of the shocks was too long... thus having to mount them horizontally in the trunk with a pivot system to transfer the load from vertical to horizontal.. check the pic...

the list goes on with problems... nothing fits....at first...but once it does....well worth it.... its basically a mini rx7

Anyone know of a rotary miata conversion for sale? Cosmetic condition is not important to me, except body should be clean and unwrecked. Will be stripping it for a track car. Please PM me - ajgoldsmith -at- yahoo -dot- com.....
