Early 60's Mazda R360 info
Hey Guys, Just wondering if anyone here has some info on the R360. I know its not a rotary vehicle but I figured it would ba a place to start since most people here are into the older Mazda stuff.
I'm mostly looking for parts sources.....I know thats a long-shot too lol.
From what I have found out there are 6 in North America, 4 of which are in museums.
Any additional info would be awesome
Thanks!

there's one that comes to 7stock, and i think it's the one in the photos you posted. the first time i saw it it arrived on the back on a chevy pickup truck, funny and cute. what kind of info are you looking for? are you getting one? i doubt there'll be places that sell parts for these in north america; you'd probably have to special order a lot of stuff. as far as specs and story go, it was introduced in april 1960 as mazda's (or then toyo kogyo) first production proper car, w/ a rear-mounted air-cooled v2, 356cc putting out 16hp. top speed, 56mph. i used to have a bunch of scanned brochures for these cars, but my old computer self-destructed. here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_R360

Thanks, I know all the technical spec about it. I'm mostly wondering how many are left in North America and how many of them were left hand drive. The only one I've seen that is LHD is in the pic above.
I found that pic on another fourm that was at an old classic Japanese car meet in Cali, so chances are it is the one you've seen at 7stock.
I'm mostly just curious about them, I may have a chance to accuire one locally in Canada, but it needs some parts.

Hey this is the name of the guy that did the restro on the light blue R360 that appears at 7stock.
Glenn Roberts from Finishing Touch body shop in Fountain Hills, you will have to look him up and give him a call but he is also doing a restro on a 110s cosmo at the moment
Hope this helps

^LOL I know !
Anyways I went and took a look at the car last night and it needs some very major restoration, not what I was looking for.
The owner said some musuems have contacted him that have some interest.
So no R360 for me . Thanks to everyone who gave me some info!

dude that is the coolest car ever! Is that 75 miles per gallon or to the tank? I would probably say per gallon being that it only had 16hp. Man I would sport that in a heart beat! ******' hybrid cars and thier so called fuel economy! Sorry I've had a few beers and am very passionate about the old school days

There was a restored one of these sitting in my local mazda dealer display room all of last year. They had just opened the dealership about 1 mile from my house.
Someone local here owns it...dunno who though.
I probably should have taken some pics of it!! But it wasn't a rotor, so I didn't bother, it's on par with the photo's of the blue one.
