'90 JC Cosmo - Okinawa!
Evening gents. I finally got the chance to buy one of these things after much anticipation had one brought down from Gunma, Japan.
It's a '90 E-CCS with some awesome mods including a 5 speed swap using a FC trans, FD front calipers and wheels, JIC coilovers, some sort of stainless steel exhaust (can't find any brand marking), bigger intercooler and a Mazdaspeed front lip. Once I saw this thing for sell, I knew it had to be mine! It'll be coming back to America with me in 2015 for sure.
I've had it for a week now and I'm still waiting on he the title to arrive, in the meantime I've done a bunch of fiddling around with it. One thing I'm stuck on now is the burnt out CCS screen. I've read that it's pretty common for these to burn out right? I've taken it out and found a blown fuse on the back, to which I replaced, only for it to blow again immediately.
I'd like to dig into it some more, but I remember reading that the car won't even start without it, that's a no go.
For now the plans are to acquire a retuned ECU, get a aluminum radiator, a couple odd and ends, and get a nice wheel and tire package. Still debating on what wheels to go after.
Anyways, here's some night time shots! Hope to have some daylight pictures after it's registered, but the hood is in pretty rough shape.

Right now I have my eyes on a set of RGII's with AD08's. They're 17's, but the widths and offsets are spot on.
The oldest of by Cosmo's will be 25 next year, so importing should be fairly easy.
I'll have to snap a few engine shots later today.

you can put 20 inch wheels on these things and they don't look too big.
me, i'd go 19's, BBS.. maybe a black or charcoal.. or BBS LM's with the gold centre, polished outer.. or.. ah, dreamin..
so you haven't driven it, yet?

Thanks for the words gents!
I'll probably stick with 18's just for the wide array of tire selection. Still haven't secured a set yet. I've been driving it for about a month now and loving it, although driving the rain with these stock wheels and tires has presented some interesting challenges.

Nothing too crazy in terms of updates, but I FINALLY found some quality wheels that fit.
AVS Model T6 18x9 +22 265/35/18 all around. They were originally painted rattle can flat black (damn drifters!). I paid to have them repainted white, and dude did a shitty job, so we'll just say the white is trial fit for now. I'll get them powdercoated next time, final color is till to be determined.
Despite the crappy attention to detail on the wheels (they painted OVER the damn wheels weights), I'm glad to have some big boy wheels for now. I bought a set of MS01's and AW7's, and neither fit over my front brakes. Oh what an unfortunate issue to have lol.
Found this shift **** from a random Google search. James Barone Racing makes these and they are HEAVY! The model I got is 625 grams, while their heaviest 680 grams. Heavier than the usual TWM shift ***** I've grown to love.
I also finally found a fully functional CCS monitor a couple months back. Had to get it shipped from Australia. I tell ya, it definitely helps to have some worldwide contacts.
