25th anv. TWIN turbo, 6 speed?!!?!?
ok, i've got this guy who tells me that he had an rx7. he says it was a 25th anniversery edition, TWIN turbo, and was a 6 speed. im like what the! was there ever such a thing? he also says he had 2 boost gauges, one on each turbo. he's never been much of a liar or anythin, so i dont think he's just BSing....but is that even possible? i figure the twin turbo mistake coulda been from being called a turbo II, but 2 boost gauges, and a 6 speed??? everyone who's talked about it has said the same thing, i dont get it. please fill me in if i just dont know about some special model, but i coulda swore they were all single turbo, or n/a 5 speeds.

As pointed out, a 25th Anniversary model would have to have been made in 2003, and they stoppped making them last year. Plus they've had twin turbos since 1992, and only 86-91 models were called Turbo II's.

There is no reason to have 2 boost gauges. They are reading the exact same thing. Just because you have 2 turbos doesn't mean you have 2 different 'boosts'. Any one who has 2 boost gauges in one car is a moron.

Heh.. two boost gauges.. I guess he likes watching needles move! What a load... The twins on the FD were not true twins one was smaller to boost faster at low rpm's so as to reduce boost lag. The bigger turbo would kick in at higher rpm's for more power. 13bpower is right on! So where does this guy live? FD's haven't been produced in the US since 1995.

I have 2 boost gauges in my car. One is stock and the other is aftermarket.
Youre a weirdo or a ricer if you have 2 AFTERMARKET boost gauges along with your stock one.
Maybe your friend counted reverse making it a 6 gear tranny.

Man....the closest thing there could be to a 25th would be the RX8, which is supposed to be at Mazda dealers by the end of March. But Mazda themselves have said that this is NOT supposed to be a continuation of the 7--hell, the thing is a four door COUPE as they called it in one mag. but the rotary under the hood should be sweet--the twin turbo has like 250 horses.....now--anyone wanna drop one of those in their FC????

no--there are TWO engines that are going to be available for it...the NA has less than 200--I think it was somewhere like 170 or so....but the one that they tested had 247......the NA actually has less horses but more torque compared to the turbo

I just checked it out--my bad....there is no turbo, and the tech info only lists one engine available, but I read in a magazine about two....they were saying that the optional one was worth getting.....gonna hafta see if I can find that mag!! Different tech sites list bhp anywhere from 240 to 250.....

The reason you won't see a turbo on the RX8 from japan is they restrict their engines to 208Kw. The RX* is about 186Kw already, putting a turbo on it from there would be a waste if it was restricted (although the JC Cosmo was 208Kw but if you removed the restriction it would go 240Kw easy).
Are different engines in the 2 Rx8's or one is just detuned for better economy?
