13BT Powered 1995 S-10 Pickup
I have a Shell laying around from a 1995 Chevy S-10, I was going to throw a V8 into it and call it a day. But the more I get into Shoehorning different series Rotaries into other rx-7's I have been thinking along a different line with this truck.. I would probably do an s4 EFI (t2 manifolds) 6 port 13bt. With a s4 turbo. The motor would go in via welding and a custom driveshaft would be needed. But other then that I have all the parts needed to do it. I know it would be underpowered but shoot it came with a 4cyl from the factory.. I would just be using the truck to tote car parts and my CBR around. It is already lowered and I was thinking I would paint it the same color as my vert.. Am I crazy? Or should I just go with good old american Pushrods and save myself the headache?
A V8 swap is approx. $1500 with a rebuilt 350 and a used turbo tranny, as well as the mounts to convert..
The rebuilt for my motor would be $600 for my xtra 13B, plus the custom driveshaft at about $280... So it would be cheaper........hmmm

The look on the chevy fans face when they see what they think is an all american ride coming down the road but doesn't sound right will make it worth it.
Dare to be different and you get more respect I say
Go for it!

I would drop the 350 in there. I would think the gas mileage would be better with the 350. I don't even want to know how bad the mileage would be with a turbo rotary in there. I can forsee lots of headaches trying to make the rotary fit well and work properly with everything.

Ive got an 83 s10 with a 355 in it, it is very fast. But, I didnt have to do any of the work. I bought it from a family friend. He did it realatively cheap though, but he did some customizing. As far as resale goes, one with a 350 might net more than rotary, because alot of people dont know what a rotary engine is, especially people looking for a s10 with an engine swap.

i am doing the same thing cuz i bent three out of four c-rods in my '95 sonoma so far the hardest thing is wiring dont know if i'm gonna run a spliced harness for interior switches or just have lights, turn singles etc. be toggle switches. the motor is a s4 n/a 5spd, the chevy 2.2 has 120 hp and the s4 n/a has 146 hp so your s4 turbo with 189hp would be quick you can use the chevy cross member with a six inch extension to bolt to the trans the shifter is now at your side instead of under the dash and the 13b sits kinda high in opinion...... should be done soon but it'll be a sleeper cuz it's rough looking

actually an s10 isnt much heavier than an FC. On a good day my fc weighs about 2870lbs, a buddy of mine just got his s10 weighed and it came in just below 3200lbs and he has heavy *** wheels. That 2.2 or 2.5 probably weighs more than the s4 also.
Ive been messing with S10's for about 5 years and it looks like a pretty straight forward swap. Just look for a cheap used standalone and you will be fine. Dont expect to pass inspection ever again tho

one of the reasons i believe he is thinking about it is that it is cheaper. I dont think a 20b would be cost effective, It would be a ***** OUT BADASS Truck, but not very cost effective.

are u talking about a stock 20B would be enough?
O and i hear ya on the 5grand, i started and originally wanted to keep the stock turbo and low boost. Now im half-bridged, gt40, standalone, etc... they are NEVER done

20b would cost to much vs as he already has all the parts he needs..
