Incredible accomplishment BYC (& Smith Power); congrats on a successful startup. It looks really stable even while hanging from a hoist. The exhaust sounds pretty tame for an uncorked rotary brute. Hope to see the injectors firing before you run it turbocharged. Props for having the fortitude to follow it thru. Looking forward to more firsts.

boating is about one of the only sports that i know of that hasn't really met the rotary yet aside from the PPRE quad rotor turbo but it is in a sprint boat. given the pure amount of cool water you can pump through the rotary on open water, it could well be one of the best suited places for a rotary engine considering it's pure top end motor that needs exceptional cooling.

Thanks... Have not been on here lately just working on the engine till 2-3 am every night...
Spent the last week spinning the rotor in these sleeves with different kinds of compounds in the engine to polish the sleeves... One of the coatings I have we put valve grinding compound and diamond slurry in it to see if it would wear away the coating and all it did was wear the case hardened tool steel tip seal down to nothing...
The r&d is half the fun of this thing, thinking about something and saying has anyone ever tried this?do some research, nope no one has tried.. ok let's try it and see what happens...... Bang, snap, bang, pop, smash, bang.... Guess that didn't work.. Let's do it again tho because that was cool to see.... Here, hold my beer while I try that again...

hope not, all the piston lovers crap on the rotary including giving it unfair handicaps to make it uncompetetive.

We ran it for around 10 min at different rpm ranges then took the first layer off to check all the parts and there is no wear on anything does not look like it was even started. Then ran it for 2 hours running cycles of 800 rpm for 5 min then up to 1500 for 2 min 3000 rpm for 30 sec 6000 rpm for 5 sec then step back down the same way, and reved to 8-10k few times in there. Then took the first two layers apart and it still looked new inside there then ran it for 20 more hours most of it at 1500 rpm running it rich around 12.0 a/f, still looks new on the inside, now it's back together and I'm building the addapters for the turbos to bolt on the exhaust and all the inter cooler piping

How this escaped my attention for so long I don't know...read all 15 pages of posts and am amazed. Seeing as I'm stationed in Europe right now, I might have to try to get to Montecarlo in 2013 to see this amazing motor in person.

You sir have done something exceptional, and honestly you have made the motor I envisioned. I always imagined the rotors side by side or mounted in the v, and figured it would be THE game changer. Would you please mind posting the video again, I would have a to have a chance to hear it. I went to your page 12rotor.com but there's nothing more than a cover page.
