This is an Rx-2 body as the VIN# is correct for a RX-2 (S122A). A 616 Vin# would have a prefix of "SNA" and a 618 woud have a prefix of "SV2A". Whats wrong with this car is that they have pulled the rotary out and put in a 1977-1978 GLC/323 motor in its place. The description notes that the engine size is 1272cc which is not a 616 motor. This car would be a slug to drive with only a 1272cc piston motor. The 616 had a 1600cc motor and the 618 had the 1800cc motor. A 616 would also have square tail lights and no tach (on sedans) . I think the 616 was ony sold in 1971 and replaced by the 618 in 1972 for the U.S. market. No piston models of this body style were sold after 1972 in the U.S.

Heh, yeah he is. I noticed the "RE" was still on the grill, but then it's missing the rotor badges on the fenders and the one on the trunk. Weird combo.

I own a Mazda 616 and it is confirmed that it starts with "SNAXXX" because
My 616 is made in 1971 with a 1600 cc engine originally.
