Alright, listen up. I know this post is long, but this is huge and important. I need everyone's help.

For several months now, we have been trying to secure a date for an event in Yakima for an Autocross at the Sun Dome. If you've never raced there, let me describe the lot. Flat, as big as Dust Devils or bigger, no interior curbing. Ample Pits and grid. In my opinion, Yakima is the best autocross site in the northwest. Not as big as packwood, but flatter and closer to wider choices in lodging and food.

What's the holdup then? The site fees for that lot are close to $2000 for a weekend. That's about $1500 more than Dust Devils. And, if the dome gets booked for something else, the lot is taken away from us. It's a very dificult site to acquire.

Fortunately, we have friends in Yakima. The Yakima Valley Sports Car Club (YVSCC) is a 50+ year old sports car club. One of their members, Jim LaPointe, works for Bob Hall Mazda. He has secured us an event sponsorship from Bob Hall for $1500 to get us to come up and do our thing. Along with that generous offer, Bob has also agreed to clear the mazda lot on Sunday April 29th for the YVSCC to hold a sports car show. No dealers, no sale cars, just a sports car show.

Why? Because Yakima is starved for some car enthusiast activities. Yakima has one BIG long running car show. It is called Vintiques and it usually has few thousand hot rods come into town for it. That show is probably not going to occur anymore. Bob and Jim want to fill the void with an annual event that focuses on sports cars. The SSSCC is throwing its hat in the ring as the host to an annual autocross in conjunction with this car show. We all have visions of this weekend becoming a huge event in future years.

What do I need? First, I need you to all mark your calendar's to race that weekend. Go to the Online service right now and register to be there. If you've ever considered yourself a part of this club, I want to see you there. Second, I need the word Spread. We all have friends with hot cars that they like to drive and show. If they don't want to race, fine, get them to enter in the show. We need to show Bob and the rest of Yakima that this vision can come true.

For anyone in NWR or Oregon Region, you guys know the Yakima site. Spread the word that we're going to put on a top notch event that weekend. I'm going to start designing the course ASAP. I guarantee a course good enough to travel in for. The SSSCC gave 124 cars 6 runs in Packwood last year. We'll be doing it again this time. 12 runs in two days is enough to get you over here.

For our Spokane friends, it's not much farther to Yakima. Bring it!!

And if anyone checks in from Snake River Region in Boise, this event will be worth the weekend vacation.

I'll be getting some info for the show posted on this thread and probably our website as well. The Online service is already setup. We'll be launching a full out campaign to spread the word soon. I'm relying on each of you to get the word out any way you can.
