Mark is an awesome guy. He did my clutch for a redicoulsy low price, and even gave me back 40 bucks cause he accidently hit my super long and droopy oil pressure sending unit wire with the bellhousing. I drove all the way from Bremerton, and would gladly do it again for his work. Not just an awesome rotary guy, but an awesome car mechanic and person. Mt.peak automotive, FTW!

I'm a proud owner of a Atkins custom built 13B for my GSLSE. Dan Atkins personally made mine with S5 lightweight rotors, S4 housings and irons, bumped up oil pressure regulators, and heavy exhaust ports. I put in Pineapple racing sleeve inserts and put on the S4 upper and lower intake manifolds and still using my S3 fuel injection system and computer.

Throughout the whole building process of my engine, Dan always kept in good contact with me letting me know how everything is going and asking detailed questions of what I wanted out of it. I dont care what anyone else says, Atkins Rotary is and will be my engine builder! Dan is ALWAYS there to ask questions or help me out with anything. Atkins Mama is VERY friendly and kind. The rest of the crew are great too but Dan and Atkins Mama really stand out. They care about their customers so much that they send Thank You cards out periodicly and Chirstmas cards out for doing business with them!!!

As for the engine, I specificly had them make me a street/somewhat race engine for my DAILY driver. She's still very quick for no intake porting. I'm always in the process of some other upgrade....doing MSD soon....

If you need ANY parts or questions, Dan is your man! If he cant find the question or help you, he will find someone who can. Remember people, its not a corperate buisiness. They're small time people like you and me, workin just like you and me.

I truly like a lot of people in this forum and dont want to rock anyone's boat...just stating my opinion.

Thank you,
Nate W.

My atkins rebuild just passed 34,000 miles or so and is still running very strong, always nice to deal with for parts also. Dan helped me out with a used starter a year and a half back, got my daily driver running agin!

+1 for Atkins

I went through corksport for a J-spec engine, but I wouldn't hesitate for anything else. The guys there (sorry I forgot your names) were helpful x30. Let me call up with questions on my swap, showed me some stuff they were working on, gave me free RXTuner magazines . . . just great guys in general.

I've spoken with Dan on many occasions and found him helpful and polite. He's also returned calls to me on his dime and never rushed the call in any way. Most important thing to me is when he couldn't answer my question, he would refer me to Andy rather than bullshit his way through. I run a Camden on my car and have been quit satisfied thus far, it performs as promised and has been very trouble free.

It's unfortunate but anyone doing a high volume of business over several years will get some unsatisfied customers. Remember to read between the lines, there are some wtf (what the ****) customer who nobody can ever please. Unfortunately these are usually the most vocal, sooooo if a business has served hundereds of satisfied customers and there is a common thread of 5 complainers, well you get it from there. Sometimes some complaints come from those who get no service at all, this is often because the samrt business owner can identify the "wtf " customer from the onset and will avoid doing business with them however possible. Not denying ofcourse that anyone can jsut screw up, or hire a shitty employee that screws up on your behalf several times before you become aware enough to fire their *** out the door. Bottom line, read the good and bad, and with the bad see how many names repeat themselves (you'll see a common thread of 3 that just can't let things lie in this case) Sad thing is no matter what you do for these type they never shut up and never go away. My best advice, visit the shop you intend to deal with and talk to the staff and not just the boss. Make sure there isn't just a good salesman up front with a 5 buck and hour lackie working on your pride and joy swinging hammer in the back.

I'd have to agree with 84stock. I've always had decent dealings with Atkins.

I just fired up a 5" Camden for the first time yesterday evening. I'll finish up the install and try to get it on the road today.

Thank you all for the input, it seems true that theres only a few who have had problem with Atkins but it seems like the overall customers had something positive to say about Atkins, especially Dan.

I may go for atkins or Pineapple, depending on what they offer and in $

IMO, every shop has some problem somewhere, especially if theyve been in buisness for 25 years. No one, and I mean no one can have a perfect reputation that long. Logically, just look how long theyve been here. Beyond that, WA needs a rotary specialist, and theyre what we have. I say give em a shot.

Anyway, Im leaving this thread now, too many people have too much invested in that argument. I like alan, I met him a couple times, hes a cool guy...yeah, Im leaving.

I always think its funny how all of the people who up and left to nopistons always seem to find their way back to this forum when atkins gets brought up. If your going to publicly leave and make a scene about it and even advertise for nopistons, there is no reason to come back to the forum and bash atkins everytime they get brought up. Why dont you just leave and stay gone, or stay and just not comment on this subject.

I've checked out nopistons and have seen very little activity. I have pm'd back and forth with codeblue when she was very satisfied with the camden and thus impacted my decision to go forward with the s/c project about a year and a half ago.

Hey you,
Yeah nopistons is much more slower than the rx7club by far, though I like the more "freedom" part of the nopistons forum. Hows the car running havent heard from you in a while?

Ive never not liked the Supercharger, in fact I still love the blower in many ways. I love the sound and the low end tourque that it gives, not to mention being different than everyone else. I am though completly happy with the turbo setup thats on my car, gotta love the sound of the turbo also.

With the Supercharger I always felt great driving my car, but I must admit when my turbo spools, and the bov goes off then when the waste gate opens, its plain out a RUSH big time. I gotta catch my breath each time afterwards.

I have no hard feelings from all past stuff thats happened here, and hold no bitter feelings.

I wish Atkins the best in business and personal.

Hello, mine has done very well, below desires but meets all that it claims. Might get brave and do 1 of 3 things in the spring. Either add nitrous, open the keg and bridge it or twin charge by blowing through the charger with a turbo. Choice 3 is where I am leaning, I have a T3 turbo to use for starters. I know what you mean about the turbo thing, I road with a friend in his 400whp TII, very peaky but holy crap does it pull when all the boost hits.

I've never dealt with Atkins. I have however seen what often happens when somenone has work done at a shop and there is a problem.

Rather than going back to the shop and working out the problem, some folks just get upset and start complaining, and take their car somewhere else.

Granted there probably are shops that deserve a bad reputation, but those aren't usually specialty shops (muffler shops come to mind). Performance shops are usually full of guys that love cars, and want to do good work.

Everyone screws up once in awhile, can't be avoided. When you screw up, you should get a chance to make it right. You can't do that when the offended party starts trash talking you behind your back instead of coming back to work it out.

Pineapple, Corksport and Atkins all have good reputations. A few problems shouln't be used to judge years of good service.
