Thanks.
We need a minimum of 5 people, which it already looks like we have. In one day I believe we can get in between 5-6 people, more than that and we would need to add a Sunday which gets more complicated. Ideal I believe will be 6 people for one day.

Here are the recent results of a recent Steve Kan tune:

I'm not sure 15 psi is safe with any amount of fuel on stock turbos...but I'll let some experts in the 3rd gen forums answer that. You certainly need either 550/1300 or 850/850 injectors to run the kind of boost you are talking about on the stock turbos. Here is a nifty little tool:
http://rx7.com/calculators.html

I'm sure, in the end you would be happy and your tune would be as optimal as your setup allows with Steve doing the work.

Also as far as fuel (thats what i need to finish the car) what injectors do i need to be able to run 15psi on stock turbos, ported engine and all bolt ons?.. I've got a cosmo fuel pump currently.

Can I get my name on this list?

I've got a S5 tII with a PFC, 1000cc secondary injectors, Sard FPR, Walbro fuel pump. Can I still qualify, if so please add me to the list and I will send a deposit.

I also have a Mustang dyno available in Tacoma, WA @ Fairlady motors that can be rented for really cheap. Please let me know if use of it is needed.

I will be getting final dyno information Monday, and will request deposits. Steve has confirmed and will be putting our tune day on his website as soon as he returns from Malaysia for work. This will be limited to 6 cars. I will go down the list requesting deposits for the dyno and that will be who gets tuned. If people back out on the deposits then I will continue to go down the list until full.

What different fuels in Oregon are you speaking of?

The largest 40 or so polluted metropolitan areas in this country run different winter and summer gas formulations. These different formulations vary the amount of oxygenating additive in the fuel to attempt to decrease smog in the winter months. This is not a new phenomenon as it was part of EPA legislation from the early 1990's. I have no doubt about Steve Kan's ability to take such variations into account when setting up a car, given that many of the cities that he tunes in will have such difficulties.

Portland/Seattle is not unique in this respect. Every automaker that builds cars and any tuner in a metropolitan area deals with this issue. This difficulty is not non-existant or irrelevant but as for making a tune impossible, it is a red herring.

Justin Wade

I heard that Steve Kan is 7 feet tall, and has arms like tree trunks, and eyes that burn with the fury of 1000 suns. And he can heal a car just by touching it!

Deposits will start early next week. The list is up to nine people. I'm not sure about adding a second day. Legistically this becomes more complicated, and I'm not sure I'm dying to do it. The idea will be discussed with Steve, and he will make the final decision about it.

I have a dyno reserved for May 19th at PDXtuning. I have a tentative date set for May 20th as there seems to be enough interest, but the May 20th 2nd day isn't set in stone. Here is the dyno shop information:
http://www.pdxtuning.com/contact.htm

The price per person for the dyno time is $125. I am going to start PMing people on the list and requesting paypal payment for this part of the cost. Should anything fall through regarding this tuning day (it won't) I will refund the money.

Steve has requested that the $200 deposit for his tuning services be sent through Gotham Racing as he is in Malaysia on business. I will find out the details of how to send this deposit ASAP and let people know.

Justin Wade

You all will love the tune. He is the best of the best, hands down. Well worth the money, I would probably pay double now that I see how smooth the car is. Enjoy it.

I'm currently in Hong Kong waiting for my next departure to San Fran and then back to Dallas. I just updated the tuning website with all the confirmed places. If anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me.

Looks like the tune wont happen in May like expected. Steve said he could do June though.

Steve Wrote:
"It looks like my May schedule is full. Is it possible to set it up for
June? I have way too many interest for tuning session and they are
filling up quickly. I already have interest from Minnesota, Delaware,
Colorado, and south florida wanting June time frame so it is first confirm
gets the date. Let me know what new June date you want and I'll put you
guys for tenative."

His schedule online also says he is going to be tuning in Montreal May 19-20 confirmed(contact person "RX7SP")

So I guess all of you guys need to pick a date in June.

It looks like in trying to nail the dyno down I have let the May19-20 date with Steve go. I have requested a solid locked in time of June 16-17.

Thanks for the patience, but I'm hoping the dates of June 16-17 will stick.

It is like hearding cats

We are confirmed with Steve, and listed on his website as June 16-17. Check:
http://forums.rotarytuner.com/stevekan/

I will confirm the Dyno at PDX tuning for June 16-17 as well.

I will start going down the list with PM's early next week collecting $135 for the dyno time via paypal. This is the final actual cost for the dyno rental. I will include instructions on sending your $200 deposits to Steve.

Adam, you now have time to have your car ready, no excuses

PM or call with questions.

Justin Wade
