I knew a guy with a mazda truck that was pretty new and he could used other mazda keys to open it up.
I started my turbo 2 and my friends 626 with my NA key . I cleaned the locks and used some graphite lubricant and the key no longer works in either of the cars. I don't disagree that locks will not work perfectly forever but there is something to be said when I can do this on my turbo and my friends 626 and have not work.

Google helps figure stuff out. but I'll be nice this one time. Check out this url -> http://www.noelsautoparts.com.au/pic...olex_m_big.jpg

There is pretty much NO way somebody will get in through these. Now those big ol' glass windows on the other hand...

Any idea of where these are sold and how much that kit costs?

solex isnt theft proof. it just makes it very hard to pick the lopck. it still doesn't prevent someone from using a slim jim or if you have a cordless drill, they can be broken. most people who steal cars dont pick the locks anyways.

This is actually very common with older mazda cars. I've rarely heard of keys working across models but cars within the same generation have usually allowed for several key to unlock the doors and maybe a quarter of those even start ignitions. This is especially common among 626s and mx-6s. I have yet to find a 626/MX-6 in a junk yard that won't respond to my old 94 MX-6 key or my friends 88 626.

Yep, that's correct vice. They will not get in through the locks. But a coat hanger and a minute or two and they are in like Flynn. Hellz, just having glass windows is a security risk. If some waste of space wants in your car bad enough, they'll get in.

But these are a good idea if your locks and/or keys are just plain worn out. Much cheaper than going to Mazda. I forget how much they normally go for, but it's not too bad from what I can recall.

1 gen rx-7's are easy to steal for the simple fact that they're not new..old toyotas use the same keys also, or you can rip the ignition harness out and hot wire it, i have a toggle/pushbutton switch in mine..driver side window you can pull down from the outside, no need for keys..lol..hot wiring a 7 only takes about 20 seconds if you've done it once or twice.
