Spokane County District Court Infration Deferral Program?
Okay, heres the story, i sent in my ticket (10 over on the freeway) with the request of the deferral program. They sent me a vouture of requirements and options. Looks as if i meet all the requirements; now onto the options... Looks like i can proceed like normal and go to the court date or they have an online program. I'm hesitant to do this one; i want to make an extremely good impression on the DA about my situation about getting on at a dealership and my ticket situation I just want to know if this option has good sucess or if i should wait till the courtdate. The last ticket i got was about 2 1/2 years ago, so, i don't think i'll have a problem with the deferral program. I know some of you Washington people may be able to help me out in this situation.

always take it to court. you have the option there for a deferal. there are plenty other options on beating the ticket. also goto the courthouse and ask for a request of discovery. that will give the officers notes. he might not have filled it out corectly or filed it in time.

Yep fight them all the time. I've had two tickets thrown out due to the officer not filing his paper work in time or not at all.
Judge called me up first (at that point I thought I was fucked) and stated he had no record of the offense, case dismissed. WooHooo!!!
Kettl's right get the officer's notes.
Good Luck.

So you think i should just wait for the court date? I guess that makes sense; if something way off with the ticket then that would be my best chance to dodge it. Really, i dont care if i get a $300 fine for the ticket...i just dont want it touching my record.

Yes, wreckless driving is not traffic court, its basically treated like a dwi but not quite as bad. you can go to jail for up to a year. I have had 2 and im finally on my last year of sr22. i got off with loosing my license for 30 days and paying arounf 1500 total in fines, court appointed lawyer etc. it kinda sucks.

I'm sure you can go to the DA and talk to them about it and maybe cut a deal but you won't see them unless you go to them, they won't contact you.

Then you need to stop by the court house and file paper work (which they have) with the court clerk requesting that you want the discovery notes (officer's notes). Like kettlman said. This usually takes a few weeks so don't wait.

on contrary with the da. it all depends. when i went to court for a ticket from the county, i didn't deal with a da. yett when i went to court for a ticket from the city of lacy.....well, the da was present. my boss actually went to court for a ticket from lacey and the da didn't show on time and the judge let everybody off cause he wasn't there. i don't know all the reasons they would be there, but it seems, at least in my area, county=no da city = da.
but anyways, get the discovery and go from there. feel free to ask me any questions about it also.

Haha, well the first case took 2 hours I mean this guy had no case, he was obviously cited for a speeding violation and basicly beat a dead horse for 2 hours and pissed off everyone in the courtroom. The guy was just looked awesome as well he was in his early 60's with a comb over, pants that were too short, really worn out senior citizen athletic shoes, a stained grey jacket, a tie that only went down to the middle of his chest, his shirt collar was sticking out and up on one side, and he just perfectly fit the discription of a Geo Metro driver (the car in which he was sited in) The things he was drumming on about were just insane and get this, he's going to apply to a higher court now. Oh After about 2 1/2 hours of BS i finnaly got my deferment, paid $50, and i was out the door.
