This Sounds Fun for BSCC Members
Autocross Practice Friday August 7TH 2009 for BSCC Members. To enter any BSCC event you must be a member. You can join up at any event including this one. See home page for membership info.
Several IF's will decide what course is run. The PLAN is to use the whole track! 2.1 miles of cones. You read that right.
The start would be on the runway near the drag race tower and go all the way down to the last cross over and then all the way up the taxiway with a finish about 600 feet from the first cross over near the waiver shack.
Pit area would be to your left after the shack and around the large building and any area beyond that. Sound interesting? Think you can handle a 2.1 mile course with just about every autocross element used?
Hmmmmm.....Now for the IF's.
If the weather is good and IF the track is not booked the day before so we can setup this monster course and tweak it so it works then it will happen.
Bottom line: If the taxiway is blocked off with a wall of cones just to the right of the waiver shack that means Monster Course is on! If not then a regular course in the normal North end area will be the deal.
No matter what ALL autocross RULES apply!
This is a practice but with no points on the line it will be relaxed compared to a regular series event. Timing display will be up but no time recorded unless you do it yourself.
How about working the course?
That will depend on how many or how few people show up to play. Low turnout means only a few people will work the far end to be eyes and ears for safety, no ******** cones. 30 minute shifts etc.
At some point we stop and several cars go through the course and reset cones and then we go again!
A good turnout means we spread out and work as usual.
What time? Normal autocross schedule. Gate opens at 7AM with registration from 7:30-8:30AM for the morning session and a lunch break around noon with PM registration from 11:30-12:30PM.
Cars will be teched in place. When you are ready for tech put your hood and trunk lid up. The two primary reasons cars fail tech are loose or missing lug nuts and or a loose battery. Battery must be secured and not with a bungee cord!
Drivers meeting's at 9AM & 1PM roughly.
How much? $30 for AM & $30 for PM. $40 for both AM/PM or all day.
Keep in mind one run will equal two or three typical runs!
Course walks will suck! No they won't because there will be no course walking! Say what? We will all line up before starting the practice and take a couple "parade" laps together at 1/4 speed! As in SLOW. This will be much easier on the feet and give everybody a good look at the course.
Don't try this at a "regular" autocross event! It's against the rules! But this is a "practice" with a very LONG course so that rule does not apply.
No food or water on site so bring your own or plan on leaving the site to get it.
If you are planning on coming out to play please email me at bsccpractice@yahoo.com so I can get a head count on who might show up.
Who is in charge? TJ is!

I want the FD done soooo bad for this. Currently at the mercy of shipping. Hope I don't have to drag out the firestarter again...

I listened to Jordan, and I got friday off.
"Hey boss, can I have Friday off? My herpies are flairing up and I don't want the sores to drip stuff on your keyboard."
"God yes, and don't come back!"
Sweet, I think they gave me an extended vacation too!
Hope I can get my car all buttoned up by then!

i'm pretty sure normal autocross rules are in effect, so your passenger should be ok.
