yeah crown point is fun. last time I did it when I looked at my clock from right by the highway on ramp past ainsworth park to the parking lot of crown point it was 12min uphill in the MR2. mid day on the weekdays or after 8ish is good
I'd say with just about any of these roads to make sure you have good brakes and that you have a decent concept of knowing how to drive your car. I had a buddy of mine a few years ago go off a drop off up at rockey point because he didnt know the roads well, luckley he wasnt hurt but the car was totaled out.

the best road in washington (imho) is on the way up to Raineer. I cant remember where it is exactly but there is about a mile section above a dam that is just perfect.
My favorite drive is the north cascades highway, lotsa great curves, beautiful scenery, a couple of long empty straights to open it up. and over the 2 or 3 dozen times ive drove it, ive only seen one WSP past marble mount.
IF you really want a great road, the one up to Mt baker is incredible, BE CAREFUL IT HAS CLIFFS INSTEAD OF SHOLDERS!!!!!!

German town is pretty nice, they just repaved it, a couple of weeks ago, my friends said its very smooth and fun! Also Crown point in corbett oregon, not to far from gresham, is a nice place..... I crashed my baby up there, but she's ok..... It has 2 hairpins at the beginning and some turns and they have 3 hairpins around in the middle. It's pretty sick!

High bridge. Surprised no one has mentioned this one yet. Its pretty nice, but there are some straight sections. If you hit that road up, then just keep going through the long straight parts then there's another good road. Ames lake road. There are some other good roads right next to it too.

Ok first one is only about 22 miles of corners, 3 of them are hairpins. Very fun canyon road if you just want to mess around without spending an entire day at it. It's out of Enterprise, OR and goes to Lewiston ID.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...=13&iwloc=addr
I've also shot a bit of video in this canyon if you want to check that out http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fusea...deoid=11541327
And for the adventurous people this road is out of Joseph OR and can lead a few different ways, to dead ends with nice places to jump in the water (Hells Canyon Dam, Oxbow Dam) or it can take you to Baker City, OR or Boise ID. The trip I just took was to Hells Canyon Dam, that was about 100miles one way and it's all hard cornering!

*EDIT*
I am organizing a trip with as many rotaries as possible! Got a few guys from RX8 club interested, so if any of you are interested let me know, it'll be an all day thing, and maybe end up at a strip club in Umatilla. We haven't decided which road we'll do yet so let me know what you can do (time wise) I'll also post about the trip somewhere else, to grab as many people as possible

I live in Anacortes and right off h20 leaving town is the beginning of chuckanut i take it quite often to get to bham and honestly... its not that exciting as far as "touge" goes. nice turns decent scenery but its not necessarily a mountain.... at all... its actually pretty flat... best around here that ive done is the drive from burlington/mt.vernon to Ross Lake. the overview is a good ending spot. good hills, looooow traffic. beautiful views and great turns, tunnels, and your in the clouds.

Found new road by accident this weekend. Looks like it was recently paved. Really good section of road.

... but why do all your roads have to be in OR ? LOL.....
heres a real crowd pleaser.... ( not in WA )
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...2&ie=UTF8&z=15
I grew up in this area.... and i have to say.. this is one of the most intense roads ive ever driven.....Its about 30 minuites of suuuper tight turns, hair-pins and hot-hot-asphalt.... SIGH....

thats the one, I've been told that their are a lot of fun roads up in WA by alot of the MR2 guys as well usually I just hang around town as of late I've been stuck at work doing mandatory OT

we should have a lil togue meet sometime. cuz i dont wanna just go looking for these roads by myself, get lost, run out of gas, get raped by a hillbilly, etc.
even like a monthly drive, at a different spot each time would be way cool

this is very good you can keep following this road out of cougar. all the way to windy ridge AKA back side of mount saint helens. From cougar it is 57 miles. with a stop halfway (Eagle cliff store) that has 92 octane fuel. fuel can be expensive lat year it was over 5.50 a gallon but for being out in the middle of the forrest not bad. also if you take this road south from the store you will come out in carson wa. I do this about ten times a year on my bike and another ten times in my car. These two roads are the reason I bought my car. Carefull lots of cliffs I personally have lost friends on this road.
Sounds fun.. i'm liking all the ideas.... and very interested in the above mentioned ( just peeped it on my atlas....... Mt. Erie is fun.... but super short and id be afraid of any traffic at all.. ( that road is pretty tiny )
Well. i say we get a group together and do a few great drives this summer.... I know we had blast last summer on the sunday drives!
