NWDrifting.com & South Sound Speedway... 2006 Season

My Dear Friends:

The season is almost upon us. You've asked and we've been working hard to try and deliver. Tasked to run more events out of South Sound Speedway, the track owner, together with TireDogs and ourselves @ NWDrifting.com are anxious to get all you drifters, a place to have your fun in, devoid of any entanglements.

For those who attended our impromptu event last year, you've tasted all but a little of things to come. We're pretty much in the final phase of our discussions, and we'll be buttoning up some details. This is what's on the table left to cover right now -

1) Price. My objective is to make this as viable as possible to both the track owner as well as the participants in the events. Understand that we, the volunteers will NOT be taking any money to help in staffing and running the events. All proceeds will go towards the rental and costs associated in keeping the event insured. The powers that be tell us that they're confident that we'll be all able to come to an agreement in this matter.

2) Time (1) : Many of you had concerns about actual seat time; we're presently looking into having these events run from... 10AM to 10PM. That's right, 12 hours... of burning rubber! I'm going to take a GUESS here, but in a group of 60 drivers, we're looking at about 18 - 21 minutes of actual driving time per driver, maybe even more depending on circumstances...

3) Time (2) : Some wanted a limited number of drivers - and this most likely won't happen, since I'm told that there are considerations underway to pave the parking lot that will ultimately be open to us as a freestyle SKIDPAD. What this means to you is that we can effectively run 2 seperate groups at the same time, doubling our participant count!

4) Compliance (1) : This will be a semi-public / public event as it stands, and there should not be any commercial activity of any sort on any part less the discretion of the track owner / organizers / approved sponsors. Membership @ NWD is strongly advised. Anyone sneaking in under the guise of doing business will be barred henceforth and will be removed from the premises immediately.

5) Compliance (2) : Check yourself at the door. Be nice. We reserve the right to entertain and admit certain individuals to the event, and there's a list. Those on it know who they are (there's not many and the rest of you need not worry) but understand this - failure to heed the rules will result in expulsion and removal from the premises.

6) I have a few other surprises in store should this become a reality. I say should - since anything can happen between now and then. Barring any other complications or interruptions, I'm sure most of you would really be pleasantly surprised with what's in store this coming season.

Understand that should my volunteers or I feel that the conditions bestowed to us are beyond reasonable or if we see that safety will be compromised, we will not support any such event. As it stands, I see no such concern.

So without further ado, I present to you the TENTATIVE schedule for 2006. This is what's been booked thus far :

*Note : As of 02.01.06, this schedule doesn't conflict with any of the Kicky-Fast or TS events...

March 12
April 2nd, 16th
May 7th, 14th
June 4th, 18th
July 2nd, 23rd
Aug 6th, 7th
Sep 10th

That's 12 events in 7 months. We're confident that you won't run out of events or track time this year!

As per usual, I would request that we try and keep all discussions and comments @ NWD for easier consolidation.
